Need something my 3rd gen can pull around that will allow me to haul my motorcycle and also live in for a while. Every brand claims they're the best and yet I read horror stories about when owners get underneath to add extra plugins and see the horrible uncovered wiring draped around frame members and exposed to the road and missing bolts and half-assed attachments... I really don't want to buy something that will fall apart in just a few years!

Is there a place to go to find good solid information on buying one of these?

I worked in the RV industry for 8 years and in my opinion at best they're all varying degrees of junk.

    Fixed.

Even the bespoke, handcrafted "non-RV" builders of teardrops and such aren't great. They just don't build as cheaply as RVs.

I learned this the hard way with a brand new trailer. Sold it and acquired a 1960 model that is much better quality. Not a toy hauler though.

There are very few options for a toy hauler that our trucks can actually pull.

Here's one that looked ok when I saw it in person. It's still the usual RV quality that won't last long.

Depending on how you define "live in for a while" an aluminum enclosed trailer will be better build quality but lack all the RV style creature comforts. If you just plan to hang out while driving across the country to ride places then it would work out but probably not if you intend to live it in a trailer full time as a home.

You could always buy or rent a motor home and pull a small motorcycle trailer.

^^^This!!! My wife and I bought a 1988 Fleetwood Tioga motorhome that was garage kept & never had any water damage. Only had 41,000 miles on it. We paid $4200. The thing is built like a tank compared to today’s junk.

We put a couple grand into it modernizing the interior, new shocks, tires, etc. We get compliments on it all the time while we are camping and people always want to look inside. The best thing is, no monthly payment on an over-priced poorly built depreciating asset. Good well-built oldies are out there. Just gotta be patient, keep looking, and have your play money ready to pounce.

^This. I have '63 Aristocrat I camp in. Very well built, lightweight and easy to tow, though I've not used to my Taco to tow it with, yet I'm sure that day will come. IMO The Taco isn't the best for towing, but I know people out there who do it.

As far as carrying a Motorcycle with the trailer attached goes, depending on the size and type of the bike you may be able to add a front receiver hitch and a MC Carrier.

Awesome vintage camper. I restored one very similar to that for my sister-in-law. Looks like a nice Yamaha TW200 in the background too. Great setup.
