Did the price go up for the tunepack?

If so, of course it would right when I was getting ready to buy it.

does this have anything to do with the tune? anyone else experience this? he says it only happened once, but still i think i'd probably hold off if this is an actual possibility after getting the tune

This is not an issue on the KDMax 7.0 tune.

I will be finding someone to reflash back to the stock factory tune. My experience with it after nearly 1000 miles is nowhere near as positive as many folks in this thread.

Sorry you are not happy. I just got your PM and we will get this solved.
I am sure we can resolve this.

My 2016 truck did this regularly when it was stock and even on OVTune 2.x.
It still does it very occasionally on KDMax but I feel like I haven’t experienced it nearly as often. It is usually only when you’re off the gas for a moment to decelerate and then hit the gas again abruptly. Almost like something in the drivetrain isn’t quite disengaged and just clunks back in to place. Doesn’t seem to have damaged anything in 90,000 miles however. I only got KDMax sometime around May.

The clunk/thud from 2nd to 1st that I felt all the time coming to a stop is virtually nonexistent now as well. The only time I ever feel that is when it’s cold in the winter.

in general the transmission feels much more refined. As it should’ve been from the factory, but very clearly Toyota drop the ball big-time on these trucks. Mine was 04B00 for ages until 04B04 released So some of the people on this form will feel my pain. 10/2015 build.

Got KDMAX on October 9 and am loving it! KDMAX eliminates the slow acceleration/lugging and, most of all, the ridiculous downshifting at low speeds. My truck is much better, and I can confirm the more linear acceleration shown in a graph somewhere in this thread. Thanks Chris @wahoobie

It’s a tough decision but I’m trading in my Tacoma this weekend. The KDMax tune almost made me keep it because it’s such an improvement over stock! Would you guys revert the truck back to stock before trading it in? Or would you leave the KDMax tune installed for the lucky next owner?

Unless you have the AGM battery settings, you can leave it. I would.
If you do have AGM battery settings, then make sure you put back to regular alternator settings.

Nope no AGM settings. I will flash to lower octane tune though. The lower octane tune was included with the tune pack, correct? I can’t remember…
