Here’s a dilemma that just surfaced this evening. My Taco is sending out a beep, once every minute or two. This beep is lower in volume than the one produced when locking the truck. After locking the truck, the alarm sets as normal but a minute or so later, this beep starts. I’ve tried starting the truck then shutting down and locking again, hoping everything would reset, but the beep is still there.

Has anyone else experienced this? We’re you able to solve this mystery beep?

Just taking a shot in the dark, but do you have your sunroof or a window open/cracked open by chance?

Are you parked in the garage and the smoke/carbon monoxide alarm chirping???
That was the answer to the last one of these.

    No, no and no.

Sunroof not open (I recognize the sound for this as I have often left the sunroof in the pop up position and had the chirp sound. This one is different)

    not parked in garage.

    Factory alarm system.

    Any more ideas?

Something in the truck on battery that isn't getting juice so it's complaining? Such as a battery backup or something?

This would be my best guess...

Another thing to check is if the security indicator upload_2020-10-5_11-0-35.jpg appears in the little section under the head-unit upload_2020-10-5_11-1-14.jpgafter you lock the vehicle.

Truck is telling you that it's lonely. You need to drive it more.

That must be it. Damn Covid.

actually, I did drive the truck today for several errands. After parking at home, I was outside near the truck for quite a bit and didn’t hear the beep again.

however, another strange thing did happen today. As I drove away from home, I noticed the BSM switch was turned off. When I turned it on, a warning came up in the info panel stating BSM not available. After several attempts I gave up. After one of my errand stops, I turned it out and all was well.

now I’ve owned classic British cars for close to 40 years and Lucas wiring is known to have “Gremlins “ living within but this is my first (and today second) experience within Toyota Gremlins. I hope they have a short life span.

By the way, I do not have anything electrical connected to my truck that did not come as stock except for my brake controller, which I unplug when not towing.

Damn this thread. Last night I was puttering around the garage. Intermittent beep. It sounded exactly like a smoke alarm low battery chirp, but as far as I know there isnt one in the garage. :annoyed: I was jacking with the running lights and tails on my camper (converting it all to LED) I'm hoping that the chirping was coming from it and not the truck...

My 2019 When I swapp sd cards, my Toyota Factory Dashcam makes beeping noises every minute or so... sometimes I don't get the beeps, I just switched it out tonight, now its beeping again, I have to play loud hardcore Metal to make sure I can't here it.
I have searched for the open source DIY fix etc... nothing yet and Im about to do the rapid planned disassembly of the factory Douche Cam and install a proper DVR.

I thought that too but I changed the key fob battery and it's still beeping
