A slightly comical story to this^^

Dude in my dept had 7 call-ins...there's a RR track right next to work....his wife brought him to work one morning.....the swing-down warning light on the train track started to come down...he got out of the truck and ran across a soupy muddy field so he wouldn't be late. And he's large. Very large.

I've used more sick leave this year than ever before. IIRC, last week when I looked it was 108 hours. We get 80 hours for family medical and with my wifes respiratory problems and recently my mother's health...
Wife seems to be doing fine now and mom is getting better as well.
I still have close to 160 hours available and when you leave you get no pay for it
I think that's why so many keep a zero balance.

 

Can you verify something for me? I was told not to show up more than 30 mins before my appt or be more than 30 mins late because the shipper would be fined 500.00 for each violation. Is this true?

 

At my DC you can come thru the truck gate one hour prior to your apt time and be at the receiving office window checking in up to 10 minutes past your apt time. I’m not sure of fines?? Who issues them, WalMart? I will find out for you.

There's a grocery DC by the office, and the road is lined with idling tractors, no parking zone be damned.

We have been eternally pissed that the DC doesn't have a lot for them.

 

I’ve never been late for an appointment at any Wally World DC. I try to be on time because the 2 hour unload window doesn’t count anymore and you won’t be paid detention. They can fuck up your whole day. I was told that Walmart fines the shipper. I can see late or missed shipments but early arrivals can be handled at the guard shack by not admitting the load until it’s time.
