And the 2015 in your signature is a 2nd truck? Lucky you.

Does your 2017 offroad have LED headlights already? I'd do that one first as it's more straightforward, and do the SR last. You'll spend real money on the electronics to get DRL behavior in an SR5, but if you like pioneering then I think @Puppypunter has it mostly figured out. It is significantly more complicated.

I have a 2021 that @Puppypunter did a harness for. It's been on the truck for about 6 weeks and I've had 0 issues. I didn't do full LED trd pro like OP is wanting but I did add DRL boards/halos and led turns.

So are the OEM LED headlights plug and play on a 2021 TRD Sport or is there a harness required?

What years can be retrofitted? I’m going to have to replace my housings sooner than later.

I know this sounds foolish but frankly I am tempted to compromise on the light quality to get my hands on some of these awesome looking LED housings with the daytime running lights etc.

what is the best housing out OEM or aftermarket that will fit second GEN 2012 to 2015 that you’re not compromising light quality but have the cool new look?

I would buy a set of OEM LED lights. I have absolutely no complaints about them at all. They are extremely bright and have a long throw but have a good focus and cutoff and don't seem to bother oncoming traffic more than normal halogens. They aren't as cool as my fancy Audi headlights that would continuously track oncoming traffic and dim the portion of the beam that fell on them but leave everything else at full high beam power but that is to be expected.

Edit - disregard everything, didn't read that you're asking for a 2nd gen.

A conversion harness or DIY cut and crimp is required to convert a 3rd gen halogen headlight harness to work with OEM LED assemblies.

    You have two options:

The lights that are the topic of this thread will fit 2016+ 3rd Gen Tacomas. I'm not entirely familiar with all the options available for 2nd Gen's, but I know you guys have a lot more room to work with for retrofitting stuff in there than we do.

    https://www.theretrofitsource.com/xb-hybrid-led-headlights-12-15-tacoma-white?quantity=1

These capture the look of the 2020+ LED's, but most aftermarket lights seem to lack in terms of performance.

Please note that he's asking about a late 2nd Gen. Our LED Lights will not work for him.
