So my turn signals and hazards went out the other day. Would not work at all. Found that the 15 amp fuse was blown. Replaced it. Worked fine again for two days then went out again today.

It seems I have other problems. What should I look for?

Do you have a trailer connection / Adapter? Look for damage on the trailer connector for shorts corrosion or damaged wiring.

    Probably an intermittent short circuit.

I do have an old trailer harness that's been on it awhile. I also have my rear brake light spliced into my campershell brakelight but that's not tied into my turn signals so I wouldn't figure it would be that. Or could it?

The trailer harness is pretty old and doesn't always work at first so that's probably a good bet.

Yes I would rip that out and see what happens then. If that clears it up just replace it with a new harness / adapter.

Do you have the flat 4 wire cable connector or the round 7 way towing package connector?

When those adapters start going bad they cause all kinds of issues.

Yes, when I helped at a shop that rented U-haul, we ran into that issue all the time.

50% of the time it was the actual connection. Usually corroded or ground off from dragging the ground.

40% it was the wiring itself.

9% of the time they didn’t have a ball, the right size ball, or harness adapter.

1% of the time, everything worked.

And those 6x12 trailers are HEAVY when you have to lift them by yourself.

Well I unplugged the trailer wiring harness from my truck and it turns out it's full of corroded old splices, including the passenger side turn signal tire. That would likely be the culprit is my guess. I'll update this after a few days of driving to make sure it doesn't quit me again.IMG_20211018_131432.jpg

Thanks everyone for the advice. I have been driving about a week now after removing the old trailer wiring and replacing the fuse. The turn signals have been working just fine. That old 4 pin connector was old when I got the truck 7 years ago so I'm impressed it didn't cause problems sooner.
