OMG, you are absolutely right. I tried going super cheap this last time on my 2020 Tacoma. The plan was to purchase a 2wd, 4-door cab, V-6, with the manuel transmission.... Like an SR or SR5 (Not). No such luck. Toyota figured out real quick how to suck us "stick-shift" guys into a triple upgrade, only offering the manuel transmission at the mid-level trim model. i.e., the Tacoma Sport trim package. If this "Tacozilla actually goes into production with a manuel transmission option, ding-dongs like me will slobber all over this and Toyota knows that.....

That things a beauty and I think a great bargain for that price. Good score

Thanks! Yeah he was really excited to find it. Guy was asking $7000 and he offered him $5000 and he took it. I couldn’t believe it. Definitely gonna keep it in the family. We live in Florida and he takes it to the keys. He’s got the life now!

Pretty cool, I get why people want this. I would love to own one, or a Sportsmobile, VW Vanagon, Four Wheel Camper. Cool stuff, real expensive stuff.

When I think of "Tacozilla" or any "Zilla", I think of something that is Monsterous. Not just some truck with a fancy camper shell with 37's or smaller. Lol

Ok, this just hit youtube about 12 hours ago. I don't know what to think after watching this teaser video out of Plano, Texas. Someone said all that tube steel framing is too much weight and I kind of agree. When I first saw this I was thinking a little "sleeper" for my road trips but this thing looks like its going to be a huge looking RV type Dolphin from the 70's.....

Yeah, that looks like it's going to be heavy. I watched the video (thanks) with sound off cause my wife was on the phone for work. Assuming they're skinning that with aluminum? I thought for sure the tube frame was going to be support for some sort of composite body. Even so....geez, that's going to weigh a lot with all the interior comforts installed. Even beefing up the suspension, this thing is going to be a pig going uphill on the highway. I'm old so, I remember seeing the fiberglass rigs on the Toyota chassis cabs back in the day. I wondered even then how could anyone stand to drive one of those so grossly under powered? And the mileage?! Even modern gas-powered motor homes are horrible for power/mileage and they have a lot more engine in front of them. To be fair, these are much larger than this prototype but I can't imagine the power:weight ratio is any better.

That is way bigger than I expected. I'd imagine they're upgrading the Sport leafs but this thing just looks like a rollover.
