you can’t get to badger once there is decent snow on the ground.

We cross country ski Bennet pass during the winter. That sketchy cliffside section is something we have turned back on due to snow conditions more than a few times. We once encountered a lost snowmobiler coming toward the snow park on the cliff section he looked sketched out and his girlfriend looked grumpy and angry. All that is to say, once snow falls on that road at all I consider it closed to vehicles due to my fear of falling to death

You can skip that section by coming up from the south (the route I prefer) but it gets pretty snowy quicker than you'd expect.

Yeah, I wouldn’t try my fate on that shelf road section with any snow/ice. No thanks.

Well one thing to keep in mind is the main access road is still closed so you have to go in the back way on Tumala Mountain Road.

I only just started going there a month or two before it closed so I’m not the most familiar on how it was but only thing I can think of to note is I swear there used to be a few alternate bypasses for the rocky bit of 802(spot in my picture) that I didn’t seem to see anymore. Not sure there was a line that could really get a taco through it without sliders or good skids.

How you access through Tumala Mount Rd? Do you eventually connect to NF 4610?

Not exactly, 4613 connects you down eventually.

4614 = Tumala Mt if the context wasn’t clear

Any of you guys interested in some Cooper STT Pros? I can’t use them on my new rig. I’m tired of seeing them in my garage.

    (4) 305/70r16 with 7500 miles
    (1) 285/75r16 with zero miles

    $1000 for all 5.

They will need to be dismounted from the wheels they are currently on. I haven’t done that yet. PM me if interested.

Im from Washington, but think i passed your group here and there at Browns that weekend. Fun time, and first time there. Ran a handful of trails, and forced my junk through lower crushers

Quite a few things at this point..
From what I've heard it's mostly just wet. The WABDR is very easy for our trucks, you'll be totally fine the whole way. I did it at the beginning of summer.

This is my first time hearing of WABDR and after some internet searches, this seems like a great trip! 4-6 days to complete but might be a great trip to plan as a group.
