Head for the mall crawl and then if you up to camp head out to the rally! We are going to have camping location there.

You are very right! Unfortunately, we wouldn't be able to make it for the night.

I removed the 3rd row seat and we built a sleeping platform. We also got a tailgate tent which will give us extra space and shelter when it rains...but alas...we will have to wait to try it out

On another note, we went out on trails near Oshawa (starting to get really comfortable with the GX now) and while I was washing the GX, I removed the front skid plate and found at least 5lbs of sand, mud, and leaves! Do you guys remove your skid plates and clean behind them?

baby steps dude, but awesome to see you've deleted the rear seats and are making the truck truely yours.

yes. every time i come back from a trip, i pull all of my skids and spend at least half hour under the truck with a hose/ pressure washer to clean out all the mud and the muck that builds up.

spent a hour cleaning the engine bay and another 2-3 washing the outside and having the inside cleaned. don't anticipate going on any trails till the spring. maybe Ganaraska event if we hold it.

Love the platform! Will be a nice setup to be able to sleep inside the truck.
That is an insane amount of mud/leaves in there. I have a lot of space I can get the power washer wand into and get it out. Mine haven"t been removed since they been on and they are pretty clean. I'll have to remove the front skid to bend it back at some point, maybe in the Spring. I do get the power washer into the rad to rinse it out. Crazy the amount of sand/mud that gets in there.

You coming to the Sat morning meet?

Sometimes I'm jealous of the space inside these suv rig's. Looks like it will work out great for you.

I usually stop by a coin-op car wash on the way back from a trail run. I just reach in with the pressure washer nozzle and flush all the skids. That's enough to keep the skids free of dirt and debris buildup. I remove the skids once a year for frame undercoating and touching up all the dents and scrapes on the skids.

    ummm .....ya.
Same...once a year removal for undercoating purposes is adequate.

@Shveet yup, it’s fun making something your own! I spent a couple hours washing the exterior and under the engine skid. I need to factor that in next time.

@Tridet167 Thanks Toy! We learned a lot from the Ardbeg trip and I think our new setup should be more comfortable....Unfortunately there’s no space between the skid and chassis to put the pressure washer in there, I even had to pull leaves out of the steering rack area!

Yes, we're coming to the meet on Saturday but may not be there until a little after 10am

@Windigo I’m so thankful the GX is so boxy. We built the platform with 13” clearance for container and enough space on top to not feel like you’re sleeping in a coffin

@3JOH22A & @19Canuck I need to get into the habit of doing that and it would be nice to assess if you’ll need to do upgrades over the winter
