It is a proven method, from the horses mouth, in ensuring the shares you purchase are bought ON A LIT MARKET (as part of an intermarket sweep order), while also removing those shares from control of the DTC.

By removing those shares, they are no longer lendable by your broker or the DTC to aid and abed the bullshit SHF constantly pull to cartwheel through giant loopholes in regulation surrounding failure to deliver, short % disclosures, and a whole host of other shady shit that should be but unsurprisingly is not illegal.

The end game being that the float is slowly locked up limiting SHF ability to ladder down price, "borrow" "shares", and decreasing volatility (until volatility skyrockets during MOASS.)

It's actually wild how many folks can't transfer their shares to CS because their broker never actually bought them..

It'll be up to GameStop to do something with that information. I would imagine they'll have their ducks in a row by that point.

 

Transfer to Fidelity then transfer to Computershare. An ACAT transfer by law has to be done in 3-5 days

TD Ameritrade seems to be pitching the biggest fit at the moment.

Well you know...having to locate shares and all that can be a pain...

Yah Fidelity has been good about it and they're processing by far the bulk of the transfers.

PERSONALLY, I didn't transfer anything. I just switched my buying to direct through computershare.
