Hello guys, hope everybody is doing great.

Im planning to do an speakers update on my taco, Im installing a component set on doors and Im gathering everything I need. the only thing Im still missing is the adapter to place aftermarket tweeters on door, and I wonder if someone would have a diag or drawing to make this little things.

I would order them on ebay but it would take a bit to have it delivered in Mexico. I can take the factory tweeters and have it from there but Im just trying to see if there is any chance that someone have a draw so I can have everything ready and that way just take everything apart just one time.

Thanks guys, hope all of you have great week.

    Regards

I used some like 1/4" mdf or something and just made a quick template on the fly. I would just do that. Roughly cut out the shape, then mark the two screw holes, mark in the middle between them the hole required for your tweeter then just go to town making it look nice. I used a dremel with a sander bit on it.

thanks buddies, yes Ive seen some adapters at ebay, *********, Amazon but nothing here close to me in MX, and would take some time to get it down, As I dont have any tool (I should) I think I will have to wait until I take everything apart and go and have some mdf pieces made using the factory as a template. I just was trying to avoid to run to the shop with everything apart lmao... Thanks guys

I removed the tweeter from the factory bracket and mounted the new tweeter inside. Took a bit to get it separated but wasn’t bad

Yes, I put the new tweeter using the OEM bracket, took apart the speakers and installed there on the front doors, on the rear I just cut a 2" hole to push them there, It took me two weekendes, Im able to work on the truck only on my free time on weekends so it took a bit with the doors apart =P .. Had to made a base for the 6.5 speaker on the rear, Scosche adapter did not fit at all even it takes from 5.25 to 6.5", so if planning to use 6.5 component go with the metra adapters better.
