Replaced my Sport tail lights to the Pros. Paid $278 shipped for OEM. Three mods left until it's complete.

Yes, They are good to me as well. Got 3 veh from them including my GF 4Runner. I also like ordering OE parts online thru them. They're pretty cheap and quick.

I wish I started a build thread 3 yrs ago to at the very least document my work. Nice write up.

I ended up taking the front header off and with the side caps still installed butt the plug (lmao) against and tape it out. This allowed for a closer/exact shape. The front header rail removed also helped with the install I imagine- I had to install the side rails then slide plugs in (the rubber flap is inside the metal lip btw) then install header.

I thought the truck wouldn't lock if the keys were in it.

I have a MT so no push button start. Doesn't affect me but I hear that there is a button sequence that you can push on the advanced FOB to enable you to lock the keys in the truck.

Got my truck back from GF. They had a good time over landing. Here are pics of the brakes with the car all buttoned up. Just your basic pic. Nothing special. Everyday life. I like that the brakes are not too flashy.

Serious question: how is it that 99% of the people who own vehicles have absolutely no idea how any part of it works? And even those who could have no initiative to research and adapt? My brothers have continually labeled me the stupid fuck in the family, but at least I can follow any directions and figure out electrical or mechanical issues on something someone else already built.

Because we have cell phones, uber and AAA now. Most people dont see any need to know how to change a tire when they may only need to do it 3-4 times in their life, they would rather just pay someone to come out and do it for them. When I grew up, we didnt have cell phones, if you broke down, you walked or fixed it right there.

Most mechanical knowledge will be lost pretty soon.

Truck is at the body shop waiting on an estimate. I’ve been given the option to go OEM, aftermarket, used or no preference on parts. Likely going OEM just so that it’s Toyota quality. Partially wish I could just specify certain parts being OEM and not care as much about others but oh well.

TRD emblems, tinted windows, OEM running boards, AVS vent shades, RMAS upgrade, LED lights in front and rear, interior LED lighting upgrade, LED lighting in bed, touch control dash mount for LED lighting, auxillary 12v and USB jacks in bed, replace all speakers with Infinity, custom mod with Bose tweeters, TRD Pro illumination mod...
if you need the windshield replaced, IMO I would not go OEM on that.
Edit: I'm on my 2nd replacement and it already has a chip in it.

To turn off the advanced FOB push and hold the lock button and then press the unlock button twice. The LED will flash to confirm that it’s turned off. This is also handy where thefts using cloning devices are popular. Turning off your FOB when you are at home keeps anyone from getting close enough to clone it and steal your entire truck.

    Howzit?

Been considering picking one up but am concerned whether it'd end up being some kind of snake oil.

Articles online aren't very helpful (sponsored content, much?) and TW armchair mechanics seem thoroughly divided. The manufacturer has charts with lines that go up after install, and up is always better. There ends my very scientific research into a Taco CAI.
