    Oh god

One time I thought I was really doing something to take back the power when my dad threatened to wash my mouth out with soap. I went and did it myself, I suppose it was to gain control of the inevitable before it happened involuntarily. My dad took it as a challenge and whooped my ass

My defiance was biting the soap so it couldn't get on my tongue. Then I just washed my teeth lol

when I was looking for my 2011 replacement I didn't see anything under 2k in stock anyways

I have a 2018 for work and the USB C is nice, the monitor can run 4k and charge the laptop on the same connection. The keyboard is dogchit with character ghosting and all that expected for the year

Yeah, its not a terrible price the more I think about it.

USB-C is awesome most of the time. Both of my HP work laptops support it and do the same thing - run monitors, charge, and do all USB peripherals through a single wire. Very convenient on the road, I carry one power brick than run them both at the same time, or charge both phones, or a combination of the two.

My newest laptop is from 2011 as well. Would like to buy something newer with a pen input for photo editing on the go (like a lenovo x1 yoga), but just can't justify the cost.

Been very happy with this coupled with their top tier Thunderbolt dock. https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/laptops/thinkpad/thinkpadx1/x1-yoga-g6/20xy0026us
Only limited by the Thunderbolt/USB-C bandwidth but can run 2x UHD monitors.

Just saw this. Their pen sucks. Need to get a nice aftermarket one and hope palm rejection works itself out.

Tbh if I could get Office working on Linux, I'd make the switch.

Ya the Surface pen would be considered an upgrade. And it flexes under my grip... Probably ok if you have a dainty calligraphic hand, but for taking notes it's more trouble than it's worth.

My garage has an inch of clearance for the 04 with my current rack on the shell. Can’t go up to 33s unless I remove it lol.

Dang. huge selling point for me was that the lenovo pen has the on-device storage so you don't lose the thing.

Ya, was kind of a bummer for me also. It recharges in there too.
It has these really weird power management settings too, that I finally got disabled through their downloadable software. It has proximity detection which really effs with Windows power settings. Cool if you don't use a dock, PITA if you do. The weird thing is they have a battery charge limiter option for when you mainly use it as a dock/desktop, which is awesome, but then that contradicts all the other settings.
Just some miscommunication in the software department I'm sure, but it gave it a very unrefined and frustrating experience until I got it all worked out. Not much of an excuse when this is a "6th gen".
