Had to use a ratchet strap to get the bumper out of the tire on that one

Never had any issues with any of my trucks. Proper tires, common sense and, in the case of my 3 Tacos....LSD.

    Never been stuck.

I’ve seen a bronze bulldog on an older Mack, thought it was supposed to represent the bulldogs fur color.

Is Kentucky a salt state? Believe it or not, Texas will start spraying salt on the roads after last winters shit storm.

I don't know if you were on here much for my previous truck, but I drove all winter long in every storm with my 09 2wd AC and never got stuck or went off the road. That was with driving at 3am in each storm (before the plows got out) because that's when I got off shift. Sure there were some less than straight moments, but that's nothing new.9FE89D60-A584-4D70-9C47-6315A0B04869.jpg

Just depends. My part of the state it's sometimes salt. But they will also pretreat streets with a brine solution (or whatever it's called). Last year we had a couple of ice storms followed by a dip in temps that rendered the salt ineffective. So they layed down a bit of pea gravel to aid in traction.

In the city where I live they do a pretty good job of snow removal. But you get a few minutes in any direction outside of the county into the rural areas and it can get sketchy quick

Somewhere I have a picture from a few years back from the aftermath of a 25 mile drive home from work in 15" of snow with nothing but Duratracs on the back and LSD. Had no issues. I'll see if I can dig it up

Pre-Treat "Brine" is called Liquid Rust here.
They lay down so much pure salt here it's like driving on a gravel road.

I actually was forced to drive it in a sudden March snowstorm several years back. The Camry had gotten rear-ended so mother was driving my GTI so I was stuck with the S10. It honestly did fine on the about 4"-5" of un-plowed roads, even going up the mountain. The sketchy part was it had a lunchbox locker (think like a Detroit) so the turns going up the mountain were super interesting... Taking off you pretty much just eased off the clutch and let both rear tires spin till they caught. It had some General Grabber all terrains that were iffy at best. Worked for me

That was around the time I had a company truck to run during the week so all I had to do was get to the shop. Following year I switched jobs. The S10 would go in snow ok, but I just didn't like the "feel." Drove the Liberty several times (has awesome 4wd BTW, despite the rest of it being a POS) but got tired of borrowing it. So that's when I found my first Tacoma. Rest is history.

Hell I'm in 2wd alot of times in the snow in the Tacoma's. The last decent storm I still used 2wd for most of the way up the mountain. There was a good snow pack so I just flipped it over to 4wd to use it.

Typically winters aren't too bad here. But we're just far enough north that we get some of the nasties once in awhile. Last winter was kinda rough. Lots of ice
