I don’t understand why everyone loves that sharp cutoff line with really bright lights. It’s great when oncoming traffic and the vehicle is on level ground, but as soon as someone hits a bump you get this nice blinding flash.

True. I think it’s the excessive brightness of modern low beams that bothers me. There are a bunch of off kilter intersections around here and I find myself staring into someone’s ultra bright low beams while waiting for a light quite often. Even the stock led ones are bad at this.

The invention of projector headlights allow me to get away with the fact that both headlamp adjusters are broken on the 99. Everyone is so blinded by other vehicles my halogens don’t even phase anyone.

I do need to break down and buy new 4Runner lamps to steal the mounting buckets. Bet the OEM Toyota glass is superior is why I say that.

it does seem like LED/HID in factory housings are much less of a complaint now that every modern vehicle has fuckin BLASTING BRIGHT BLINDING RAYS OF PAIN emitted from their factory LED/HID setups.

I think I notice the leds in halogen housings more when they’re behind me or passing me, they throw a hell of a glare in the side mirrors.

Plus it seems like MFGs have figured out how to make LEDs that aren't total dogshit in factory reflector housings

I like to think they realized they were making the world a terrible place and committed themselves to making a better product.
