Living the good life! My truck has been out of my hands for 2 months now with probably another to go, so I’m living vicariously through your updates.

How long is this post-wedding stint anticipated?

 

It was good to see you and hang for a bit.

 

As it turns out, I'll be back home Friday for another wedding. Hence the short PNW outing. Needed more time up there for sure.

Will be back at it a week or so later, heading to warmer places at this point, probably until about Christmas give or take if everything works out.

Not a bad time of year to be home for a few days.

 

And back at it. Northern NM and Southern CO. Working my way to Moab for RT.

 

You heading East after RT? Weather will be about perfect

You know Baja is Southwest of here… Just sayin.

 

Those are fighting words! It doesn’t suck during the winter months. Just during the summer which is like 8 months out of the year.

 

Would like to go to Baja for sure, but I definitely have my reservations. Queue @teamhypoxia and his stories... But I know for every bad story there's a hundred good ones.

What I would really like is someone who's been to show me the ropes for a bit.

Learning how to surf has been on the bucket list for a while.

The lack of public land is what really sucks.

 

Yep, that is what we miss the most. Sucks having to make reservations months in advance to glamp right next to other people. But all the kids care about is riding their bikes and playing on the playground.

 

Hasn’t @TMFF been to Baja a bunch?

Maybe he could drop some knowledge on ya.

 

I was trying to convince him last time I saw him that it was time to head back there for a week.

 

Baja isn't bad. I had no issues on a dual-sport motorcycle for 13 days. Don't a stupid, loud, touristy American. Be aware. Make an attempt to speak some Spanish. It really isn't that hard to travel internationally - especially Baja. Mainland on the other hand… I still haven't decided if I would take my truck there before fully insuring it against total loss/theft.

It's even easier on the eastern side where pavement and topes are rare. You'll want to know more Spanish though for more enjoyment unless you avoid everything and just find the ex-pats.

 

I learned I don't much care for having a gun at my head while the vehicle is being dismantled. Can't call the police..... these ARE the police.
