I took my dog when I went. She was just a tiny puppy then. But she wasn't allowed on the trail or in the ruins. It's so ancient and fragile that they are paranoid. But they had a free kennel for her. When I got back the ranger had her in his lap. He said she was too cute to put in a cage. :D

Haha... I read somewhere on here that "drinking responsibly" means being careful not to spill your beer/cocktail.

My plan is to attempt to pair some rockhounding areas with 4x4 trails next year so we can spend some off grid weekends exploring :fingerscrossed:

I have a 17 w/ OME lift and 33s...the way the TRD Off Road SHOULD come from the factory, and I've been thinking about a Rubicon or Mojave many times, every day, for the last 2 years hahaha!! The 1st one I drove was a 2020 Mojave, and it was downright scary, but that was before the steering box TSB. The most recent 6 speed manual I drove handled nicer than my lifted Tacoma. I was set to pull the trigger, but then things went crazy with vehicles prices, and well, prices of everything else.

I'm still very interested, but just haven't quite found the right truck, at the right dealership, or for the right deal. I'm NOT ordering one, because I want to drive THE truck I'm buying before I go through the whole process.

FWIW, you don't need to spend $60k, at least not right off the bat. The Mojaves and Rubicons are the same pricing, start at $45k, and Cold weather, Active Safety group, and auto transmission give them about the same feature-rich comforts as a Tacoma w/ the Premium and Tech package with an MSRP of around $52k, and with a little effort, can be had for about the same out the door price as a comparably equipped Tacoma.
