Lol been on 2 runs and 1 meet from this thread this year alone. And that's with my truck being down for the whole summer. Sounds like you have a participation problem man.

You have been a member since June 2021. Hardly a year. I don’t think your going to get many members here to go to Azusa canyon. That place is horrible.

Maybe that’s the problem. You think Azusa is cool. Looks like people are dying to be in your “overlanding” Covina/Azusa club. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/socal-off-road-club.741410/

Been to azusa once, and after about 2 hours, I was done and over it. No idea how people can go there week after week.

For starters, it's not a trail..it's just a small enclosed area full of gravel sand, a few small hills and a giant mud pit. You don't really 'explore' at Azusa, you just romp around an enclosed area and try not to get run over by all the dudes in full size domestic trucks on 40+ in super swampers. It's always packed on weekends, people set up tailgaters all over.
I've been there a few times and never stayed longer than 30 minutes before it just gets boring and I'm ready to leave. I like trails that go places, give you a sense of adventure, take you into more remote parts of the mountains, have some level of technical difficulty, etc. Azusa OHV you're basically paying $5 or ten bucks to be locked in a small playpen with a bunch of other people.

As far as ohv parks go, Rowher Flats is a much, much better OHV park with actual trails and a ton more open land.

It’s a giant mud pit. A bunch of bros drinking and driving like fools. They just put easy-ups everywhere and watch each other get stuck and break stuff. Right now it’s timed entry with a reservation. Rowher flats and hungry valley are way better places to go for a nice day trip.

I’d say the worst part is getting all that mud off the truck

Think I’ll take your advice and live happier without visiting there ever

That and when you have my luck and have to swap out your starter twice thanks to the mud :anonymous:
Moab’s fun, I can’t wait to go back. I don’t know you, but stop being cocky and get out there and wheel with some people :p:D

While we’re talking about wheeling, would anyone be interested in a trip to Ocotillo say in November or December?

Sounds like you need to organize a run to one of your favorite spots since you seem to be "in the know."

COVID killed this thread among other active meet threads. This thread was very active and runs were being organized regularly until everything got shut down. Now runs are more closed and by invite, which your approach is a perfect way to get invited.
