Oh there will be some mods all right
Oh I'll definitely still be hanging around. Funny you ask, I gave my parents a friend's and family discount on the wheels and tires for their tundra so I'll still be writing a review for them :D

I forgot to say! Speaking of tires, the tire selection for the stock wilderness size is insane. Way more to choose from than I expected including many truck tires.

I've seen some beefy tires on Subarus!

Are you thinking of trying to find a year-round tire? Or a winter set and a summer set?

Since it's coming so late in the year I figure the tires will be fresh with no miles on them and should be at least halfway decent this winter but I will probably buy winter tires for next winter. I've heard a Subaru on winter tires is a thing to behold :D

You'll have to join us if we do a winter T.W.A.T run! Snow might make it an interesting trip.

We went 1 winter on all seasons with the TC, and it wasn't too bad. The second year I put Hakkapeliittas on it. Even a FWD hatchback with snow tires is awesome until the snow gets deep. An AWD with good clearance and winter tires will be tons of fun!

Looking at getting a mild lift for the tacoma in the next couple weeks. Was looking at the Bilstein 6112's and 5160's. I've read a ton of information on this forum about this setup. Just seeing what my fellow Wisconsinites are running on there rigs and see if there are any other options I didn't consider. As much as I'd love some Kings or Fox 2.5's I just cant justify them for my use, the weekend warrior. Thanks in advance for everyone's input.

I'm running 6112's in front and 5100's in back with Bilstein heavy load springs. I'm overall very happy with it. 37K miles so far and plenty of abuse. The ride is firm, but not harsh.

Another good value option is Eibach. And, I believe Dobinson has some reasonably priced options as well.

And then theres complete OME kits for around $13-1500. Tough as nails and an excellent upgrade choice.

Yeah, I've looked into those as well. Looking at Bilstein Lifts.com they have an OME package that comes with leaf springs and the option to add OME uca's at a discounted price.

The main thing that turned me off to OME was that they only offered a 3" all around lift, which was way more than I wanted in back. Maybe they have more options for tacos. :notsure:

I was able to get 2.3F/1.5R" with Bilstein. Plus, they had plenty of options for heavier load springs.

Never looked at OME 4runner offerings.

Taco lifts are generally around 2 inches with them, which is plenty unless you're going insane with your build imo

Totally agreed! I could fit 35's on the lift I have. Not that I plan to anytime soon! :D

Taco lifts are generally 2-3” for off roading. In fact 2-3” is about max for the geometry of the IFS. All the long travel guys and even hard body dudes SASong their trucks for actual off road use don’t lift these trucks much. It’s about suspension travel. Anything more isn’t if you’re going insane with your build. Any more is when doing the stupid bro lifts that aren’t functional. Drop brackets and blocks and shit like that.
