So my dad has had a hybrid bike he's ridden all over the local area around their house for years. They got my mom hybrid/road bike last year during lockdown so they could ride together, and she's been a great sport about it.

Then I got her on a mountain bike when she came to visit...

Suddenly my "why do you have so many bikes" mother is searching for her N+1.

On a related note, my folks have discovered the Lorton, VA and Quantico trails, plus PoCo in Richmond. I'll be back in NOVA for Christmas. Any other areas I should take my folks that is mild by MTB standards?

Went to work and built my New Chameleon. With the difficulty getting bikes and parts, decided to just get a complete base model and swap parts as I need to or as they’re available.

nice. I mean, just looking at it from here, it looks like it still has pretty decent parts.

Fun full moon night ride last night with my friend and his new Sur Ron. It was his first ride with it and my first ride on that trail. :bikewheelie2::bikewhoops:657A78F5-4E5A-4586-99F0-EC1E15ABD11E.jpg 0A91D07F-6B75-4D5A-B853-3F4FFDA5F18A.jpg E9280656-82DE-4736-B32E-D0262BF80E76.jpg 503F3662-B988-4076-B37E-E23F3D3AB8CB.jpg

Five Ten Freeriders... great choice. Every time I'm due for new biking shoes, the only questions are (a) which version of the Freerider am I getting this time, and (b) what color? My current pair are number 4 or 5.

It was a service/fire road that had some single track mixed in, a network of trails that is likely mixed use: mtb, hiking, and possibly even horseback riding. Lots of antennas (tv or radio?) were along the mountain ridges.

I like how smart you're being both in response but also trail usage. yay for responsible trail usage!

My friend rides more than I do. He rides mtb, motorcycles and, now, an ebike (a strong one at that). He said he likes how the SurRon rides better than his motorcycle. He’s never ridden a dirt bike, but has been wanting to. I said to him that these SurRons are kinda like mini-dirt bikes in a way. For his height, I think they’re a great option. He plans on using the ebike for scouting out new trails for mountain biking. I think I’ll probably do the same, if the trails allow for their use.
