Official 2021 NCAA Football Thread

If we see him against Florida it’ll be in very limited action I think. Reports have had him running routes for a few weeks at practice now but no cutting routes.

 

NCAA basketball tournament is so much more fun to watch. So many upsets of small schools over big schools. Watching Butler make two straight championship games, George Mason's final four run, Loyola Chicago's runs the last two seasons, etc.

So many people make tournament brackets, including many workplaces. It's fun all around. No such excitement around a four team CFB "playoff".

 

People will keep defending a broken system because they don't like change. I actually just read an article that says current talks of expansion have the most likely outcome to be a 12 team playoff. No idea when that will be but that was talking about turning the new years 6 bowls into CFP games and doing so prior to ESPN's contract being up in 2025. Although I'm still skeptical on that last part.

 

For sure. I get why the current "playoff" and previous BCS systems are in place. It keeps all the power, money, and top games with the P5 conferences. P5 conferences created the system for their benefit. Neither of those systems were NCAA creations. It makes no sense that teams can go undefeated and be shut out of any playoff.

But now you have P5 conferences like PAC-12 and Big 12 griping that their teams rarely get a playoff spot and they want automatic bids for their conferences. If automatic bids become a thing then it should be like college basketball and all 10 FBS conferences gets automatic bids.

 

Some people won't be happy until a 3 lose Iowa State is allowed a playoff spot because they beat Oklahoma every few years

March Madness is the only bit of basketball I watch so it is pretty valid here

 

Nevermind the 1 and 2 loss teams that are more deserving...

It's not like only the top 4 finish with 1 or fewer losses. And even so it is decided by the opinion of a committee.

9OT! That's crazy. Can you imagine if the NFL has the same format. Could be interesting.

 

I wish the NFL one was different. None of this "first to score a TD wins" BS. I think the field is too short for the 2 point conversion thing though.
