That’s terrible. I’ve started wearing safety glasses for damn near everything. If nothing else, I don’t get dirt falling in my eyes under the truck. I’ve really enjoyed having my eyeballs thus far and would like to keep them.

I may have punched my eye with the back turn knob of a pair of vice grips. My eye was literally bleeding instead of tears.
    Dats how I roll yo.
Tanning my eyelids get it right. Notice the only glove is on the hand holding the hot shit. I can't stand gloves welding especially TIG. I like my dexterity or what little I have left.
Whatchu talkin' bout Willis I'm OSHA's poster child of perfect safety protocol

In my defense I was just putting a little tack down. The hood went down as soon as I was running beads.

Speaking of tanning, when I got my first welder I wore short sleeves and welded for probably five hours. I was insanely burnt :bananadead:

I have definitely punched myself in the face a few times, usually with a wrench though. It takes no effort to be a little more safe; Or make one silly mistake and regret it forever. On a similar note, last year one of our employees drilled a hole through his finger when the bit snapped :annoyed:I did make fun of him quite a lot for it though...

Consider picking up a set of chassis ears to pinpoint the noise, or at least eliminate suspects. Really great tool to have.

So glad this project is over with, just have to button up some wiring and hose routing and i should be good to wheel this sunday. Im curious to see the alignment numbers on this, but i wont be on a lift till i get my camburg spindles.

3.0x9 ram limited to 6 inches stroke.
Its set at oem rack height and about 5/8 inch forward of stock.

My question got skimmed over previously. Could someone confirm this for me? Thanks!

There are no steering rack upgrades available for the 3rd gen at this time because of the oil filter housing being in the way, correct?

A tundra rack has been put in a third gen if that's a route you want to take.

Thank you for the reminder. I’ve been looking at both but not sure which one will be a cleaner and simpler install. Either way, I’m sure I’ll end up needing to relocate the oil filter out of the way.

I can't leave anything well enough alone
I haven't ever worked on a 3rd gen oil filter, don't know if it is something unusual or not, but just wanted to say that remote mount oil filters, that screw on in place of a filter, and have hose connections in/out are not hard to find. I suppose there is a good reason why a simple relocation of the oil filter hasn't been done on a 3rd gen? I have an Amsoil remote mount filter kit somewhere, that has a regular and a high filtration bypass filter for the finer particles without undue pressure drop. It has that same sort of filter take off plate...

Someone has a remote oil filter mount for the third gen. As small as the filter is I’m not sure it really saves you any room but it would mean you never have to get back into that area.

The actual bottom of the engine sits lower because of the filter location, and that's the main problem

This is all good info. Thank you. I’m going to eventually put in a proper rack but I have to have the right game plan. I’m one of those guys who only has 1 vehicle and loves to cram projects into a weekend that I should not and hope I have planned well enough to have everything I need to cover any fuck ups. It’s half the adventure.

Fitting 35’s is cool, but the 62’s on this sherp pro are where it’s at. Cool little thing that came through my work today

I’ve been checking these out all day since your first post. It makes me want to stop putting money into the Taco. I watched a video where it broke through the ice, continued to float and then climbed back up onto the ice. Pretty reasonable price for what they can do honestly.
