How long did you have to wait for your factory 2022 order/request/whatever it is called?

Good day. Reading about putting a deposit down on allocation any ideas when this can happen for the Trail Edition? I talked to 2 dealerships in my area and had no clue about putting a deposit down. Guess I search out a few more dealerships?

 

I've found some dealerships just aren't interested in taking deposits. It might be they prefer to get the truck on the lot and pad the price with add-ons, rather than work with pre-sale agreements that are thin on high margin items or markup.

 

How do you do that? I have a sticker/VIN for a truck that is supposed to be built Oct 29.

 

Sorry, MT is manual transmission and AT is automatic transmission

On the data I see after entering my VIN for my to-be-built 2022, it says. "Date of first use December 31,1". Does anyone know what this means?

 

I've heard that the Trail and TRD Pro aren't going live until November, which is also why you can't currently build them in the "Build & Price" tool on Toyota's website.

 

Missed the last part of your question. The package I got was the Premium and the Tech. It was already allocated with those packages so I had no choice but I think they are both nice packages.

 

It means automatic and manual transmission.

That is based on region. You can build the 2022 TRD Pro in GST region.

 

Is your VIN temporary? If so, I don't think it means anything yet. I tried to explain it here:

 

Date of first use is a default date and has been that way for a long time and will stay like that until:
A) Dealer obtains the the vehicle, or obtains it and installs any accessories and then inputs it into the system
B) Vehicle is sold

It will then update it with the date of first use and the dealer that sold the truck.

 

My temporary VIN “disappeared” tonight!!! Tomorrow is my scheduled build day! YIPEE!!!

I'm wanting to order a Trail Edition, but have had 0 helpful information from the 4 local dealers I've talked to. 3 of them pretty much had no idea what the trail edition even was. The one that did hear of it told me they won't have any in until feb/march... which just doesn't sound right. From all the articles I've read though, it sounds like i just need to wait until November for them to start rolling out.

 

I bought my truck 6 months ago so I got lucky and didn’t have to order anything. But I took my truck to get serviced and I went to look on the lot and they had 7 trucks. Some 4x4 off road and they were all 15k above sticker price! and no haggling either! Those where all the new trucks the dealer were going to have this year.

Also, for anyone wondering, the build week in my temporary VIN was "36" and it was built on October 4th.

 

My original build week was last week in September, week 39. Build date was set back to 10/20/21. Believe this was most likely due to Toyota’s big decrease in production during the month of September. Hang in there everyone. It has been a ride.

 

I see you're getting a Lunar Rock TRD Off Road... is that the color you originally requested? Did you know Lunar Rock was going to be an option when you ordered/reserved/whatever your truck, or were you originally expecting to get a '21 in a different color?

The reason I ask is, I went into my dealership in late September only knowing the '21 color choices (I assumed that Lunar Rock would be a '22 option, but at the time I thought I'd be getting a '21). I wanted Cement, Green, or Red, and I ended up with a Green '22 because that was the first truck they had allotted that matched everything I was looking for. I didn't know Cement was going away until I saw the '22 updates online a few days later - that certainly assuaged any doubts I had about settling for my second favorite color!
