Of the two I’ve ruined, I prefer the 02 face over the 99

 

all 1st gen TRD's are basically just a locker and bilsteins, no?

 

1998-2002 looks like a 3rd Gen T4R; 1995-1997 and 2001-2004 were unique to the Tacoma...

Lets be honest the other TW "forks" are pretty lame and have low membership numbers.

 

I'm a fan of the middle years, updated and styled grill but with the square headlights. Makes it look boxier

Oh no I like em all to some degree, but the 98-00 is widely regarded as ugliest front end, and unfortunately its the only one with a dumb frame design that requires cutting and welding to fit aftermarket bumpers as well. Has the worst performing headlights too

 

Wack. Makes sense that the headlights are shit, but I wouldn't think Toyota would change the frame that much mid-generation.

I’m a fan of 95-97 and 01-04 front ends… the 98 is… meh. But I won’t be changing it

 

Double cabs had tokico shocks. Rest were bilstein. Plus the lockers… pretty much it. Oh and some stickers

 

First impression - I hate it. 20 seconds later I'm looking at it still and it's already grown on me. I dunno...

I guess its better than a T4R front end on a Tacoma, that'd probably be weirder

 

I wonder how much the TRD package cost from the factory? It's easy to poohpooh it now but if it was $300 for a factory locker and slightly better shocks??
