    Re the poll... I used to always leave the lights on when my kid was young enough to trick or treat. The past couple of years I try to keep a low profile (darken the house and close the shutters). But we do keep a bowl of candy around for the persistent little (cute) buggers who still insist on ringing the doorbell. :D
