Solid state 3D printed will be the big leap when they can upscale and pump them
    out.

Thermal runaway is the biggest safety concern however the new printing techniques and polymers are going to end that gap.

I’d like hydrogen fuel cells to be a thing for electric cars or just hydrogen.

I’m hoping in a few years to get an F150 electric. I want to let them come to market and work out any kinks the first two-three years. Plus we’ll see if anything else comes out

Less because the typical ICE tank, in an apples to oranges comparison, holds a higher energy capacity than the current batteries do (at an economical price point).

I realize that but the typical complaint was "I'll be stopping all the time to charge". So that why i posed my question that way just for the sake of calculating charge and fuel stop comparison. Also gas holds more energy but is less efficient. EVs use their battery more efficiently than an ICE engine burns gas. Gas engines are 30% efficient while EVs are 60-80% efficient in their use of the energy.

Maybe total charge time compared to total refueling time would be more accurate than the amount of stops?

I can refuel my truck faster than I can recharge my phone. I only need to refuel my truck once every 12-16 days. I need to recharge my phone every 24hrs or sooner.

What is more efficient a cell phone or a Tacoma?

Well thats not what I'm talking about. Just how many fuel stops in 35,000 miles for an ICE car compared to this EV that had 208 charge stops in 35,000 miles.

I dont pay alot of attention to this stuff but you said the typical complaint was the number of stops but l honestly thought the typical complaint was the time spent during the stop. However l do recall seeing both complaints when reading about the Ford Lightning while towing as it would require frequent long stops.

Yes both. Length of stops and number of stops.

Probably a lot more, but I don't think it takes but 5 minutes or less to pump a tank of gas. If fueling a vehicle was that much trouble, or an time consuming inconvenience. There would be an app called gasser where someone would come pick up your vehicle, fuel and return in to you. While you do what ever else with your time.

I don't know why a cell phone battery can't last longer? If phones ran on gas, I think you could get more time out of it, over it's rechargeable battery. Storing the gas would be a concern, but maybe the phone could utilize dry gas.

Unfortunately, until folks buy in and spots install the rapid charging stations, it’s a pain for early adopters.

It’s also not exclusive to gas stations anymore, either. Hotels and restaurants should be buying in because it’ll funnel traffic into them.

I was watching an EV special on TV the other night but they explained the charging a little. I dont remember all the terminology but they said the charge times are basically built into the vehicle.

Definitely. You can overheat a battery just as easily with a charge as you can by overuse. I’d be willing to bet most of the chargers installed are the cheaper options, but that’s just a guess.

It has nothing to do with this thread but you triggered a cell phone memory. My phone was plugged in and charged to 100 percent so I unplugged it and went to the garage and set the phone down. About 30 minutes later I went to grab my phone and noticed it was all the way down to 15 percent charge and was hot AF so I stuck it in the freezer for awhile before charging again and then was totally fine again.
