Going to check out those pads. :spending:

The marketing is insane within auto detailing and honestly a bit overwhelming and preys on greenhorns. I’ve had my fair share of sniffing the bottles  but I’m sure they smell better than they taste so I’ll stick to my kool aid. (for now)

Their local to me and their marketing presence is almost oppressive. The car club I'm a part of, there seems to be a dozen fanboys around every corner. Don't get me wrong, Griot's seem really passionate about cars and put on great events and training seminars at their headquarters, but they're really aiming hard at the upper middle class, old car guy/naive newbie demographic, and anyone with half a clue doesn't use their stuff.

Well, maybe that's changing a bit now with their ceramic products. They appear to have captured some magic.

I wouldn’t say that. Haha. I used to use Meg Ultimate spray and the Turtle Wax Ceramic definitely lasts longer and the water visibly beads more. I do all the glass and headlights/taillights too. I can’t really say much about long term durability because I use it pretty much every time I wash the truck just because it’s quick and easy. From what I’ve seen in tests though, it’s lasts very well for the price and ease of use.

I have used TW Seal and Shine for a while, and now the Ceramic. A couple coats lasts me a year, but it is so easy to apply that I do it every 6 months and it stays shiny and beads up. I have so many other things to spend time and money on, and this is inexpensive, easy and lasts.

It’s good to note that prep can and does play it’s part in longevity I’m sure.

Griots is great too. They're local to me and I have a car club membership that provides us with griots products. Waiting for their 3-in-1 to come in the mail so i can do the side by side comparison compared to turtle tax.

Nope. It's great stuff. I've been detailing my cars for 26 years and its legit. I usually stick to german products such as Menzerna and was skeptical when I read about it but PF did a really good unbiased test and it came out on top. The best part for me is how easy it to apply. It's like using a quick detailer, just spray on and wipe off.

I just did my annual paint correction (DA buffer with microfiber pad/menzerna fast gloss) and topped it off with turtle tax hybrid solutions ceramic and it looks great (although the ceramic just protects the paint, doesn't make it pop like that).

Can you use the TW hybrid on rims? Is it advised or is there a better rim protection you all use?

I have used turtle wax, and meguires version of the hybrid spray ceramic, and was not impressed with the overall results, or longevity. over the last year I have been using Griot's 3 in 1, with their ceramic speed shine, between washes with their ceramic wash, mixed with their brilliant shine wash (for more suds). for me, using Griot's has worked out well, easy clean ups, good shine, lasts long. your results may vary. I’m pleased with the Turtle ceramic hybrid stuff. Using it on my midnight black metallic / blackout package (fully murdered out) TRD OR.

I’m not believing the once a year thing, but I’m cool doing it every month or two.

I used Griot's Ceramic spray (the one that's sort of muted green color) based on some of those video reviews and it is a fantastic product, super easy to apply and very affordable, plus it seems to be available at many auto parts stores. I am interested to try this hybrid ceramic/ graphene paste wax that Turtle Wax came out with as like a special 75th anniversary product, but it's sold out everywhere. Would also be a bit more of a hassle to apply but I'll generally hit my vehicles with the buffer a couple times a year anyway.

You all convinced me to give it a try I went and bought the TW hybrid spray to replace the traditional paste wax.

    Need suggestions for another issue…

A few months ago I took some old garage items to the dump for my folks and some sort of watery silicon or water based (I think) sealer spilled and some ran down my tailgate… any removal suggestions? 10B79903-615B-46C5-B595-431C7F9F0B96.jpg490B7F8D-66F8-4315-89DE-0CC2D4CF9C6B.jpg

Try a degreaser like Simple Green, then Goof-Off, then clay bar, then rubbing/polishing compound with a microfiber. Escalation of chemicals/mechanical action.

Turtle Wax has done a decent job of putting out some good products the last few years. I don't use them for my business but they've definitely come a long way from what I remember us having in our garage when I was a little kid. If your wax/sealant isn't lasting do a decon wash first. I install ceramic coatings and even on one of my personal cars that sits outside 24/7, under trees in all weather eventually the coating 'stops' working. In reality the surface is just clogged. Usually pre treating with a fallout remover, all purpose cleaner and then power washing it I see it start to bead up again. Ceramic coatings or sealants are impenetrable shields and still need to be maintained. On my Audi I would usually only wash it twice a year and throw a topper on it for another level of protection.
