Loaded with about ~550 lbs of three dudes and ~900 lbs of donations & tools/gear for Hurricane Ida relief work in Houma, LA. I got 23.4 mpg over 342 miles on the way down, even better on the way back.

Donations offloaded in Houma, more tools loaded.

So many relief and recovery needs exist in South Louisiana from Ida and last year's Laura and Delta and other storms. If you can swing some time off, they need you. We did roof tarping and mucking-out, recovery/rebuilding will come later.

This was my 2017 I just sold. Had to rent a wood chipper after a huge storm tore through my yard.

Very interesting you mention this as I had no idea there was any damage or anything going on over there. I don't see it in the news as it doesn't impact people nationally. Thank you for helping

It's not over by a long shot, it's just out of the news cycle. The folks there are very resilient and are still dealing with the damage from last year's Hurricanes Laura and Delta and other storms. Then Ida came and compounded the damage. Even if no more storms come in the next few years, it still will be years before all of the current damage is repaired. Our work was relief work, organized volunteer rebuilding efforts are still forming. One punctured roof we tarped was in a fairly well-to-do neighborhood. With comparatively lesser damage than his neighbors, the home owner -- who wasn't able to tarp it himself -- couldn't get a roofer to respond to his lower level of damage. At another home we ripped the wet attic insulation out because the husband was a lineman busy 25 hours a day restoring power for the region.

Anyone interested in volunteering for rebuilding can look to their church or synagogue relief/response agencies for opportunities. Or for secular avenues, look though the LA govt site at...

6800 and that’s with the 2wd access cab. Start adding on and it gets lower and lower.
