Still think TITNC3: Return of the Iceberg was peak

Just tried to sell short on E-Trade. I tried both my Margin IRA and my Margin Individual account.

 

I might also pay $70 for a rocket emoji button up don't judge me

 

GTii moons from lack of shorting, hits $50 a share. Margin calls en masse. Market collapses, algos are forced to cover, GME hits $5m a share.

Good plan, I like it.

 

Btw, isn't it nice how you don't get a notice, a heads up, an email, nothing?

Just, "Nope, you can't do this. By the way, we super value you as a customer, but we're not gonna do anything silly like, you know, actually let you know what's allowed and not allowed with our securities."

"Oh, and by the way, we haven't actually purchased any of the securities you think you own. Yah, we just move numbers around on your app until you sell and then we deposit money in your account. Ok love ya, bye!"

It's been on the hard to borrow list for a long time now. This is the first I've seen not being able to short it. Let the margin calls flow. lol

Yah, but that's illegal. Nobody would naked short.

 

I'm just wondering if the brokerages got advanced notice about something? Like GTii filing for bankruptcy. lol

If 2020/2021 has taught me anything it's that by the time I know anything, everybody who is able to make money off of that knowledge has known it in advance and already positioned themselves accordingly.

 

It's not just the last 1.5 years. This shit has been going on forever. Inside knowledge will always trump the outsider. Sure, a few funds get sacrificed every once in a while, but the great majority profit. And profit large.

 

This is true. I just never cared to pay attention to it before. And now that I know, it really pisses me off.

Give me $80b to start a fund and I promise I'll never be poor again.

 

Man I hope so. If GTii starts blowing up hedge funds that's good news for me.

 

Or they are shorting it down to dump and go long. That would be nice. At this point I think GTii going tits up is more likely then a squeeze. lol
