What is the HP of the original motor? Is it in bad condition?

    It's the original I think, maybe 1/3hp or 1/2hp

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
rpm is going to be 1725 as long as you don`t get 3450 rpm only

the shaft should be the same.

comes down to the physical size of the case

If it works good now it will probably keep purring right along. The motor may have some oil ports on it and also instructions for oiling. Usually a gentle cleaning and a few drops of 20 WT non detergent oil is all that is needed to keep them humming along.

Thats a huge rabbit hole lol. Generally, anything Benchmade makes is pretty awesome. Great company and durable knives.

Do you have a particular size in mind or certain features that you have to have?

I carried a CRKT M16 for years. I carried an old Buck for awhile until I took a chunk out of the blade. Now I'm carrying a Benchmade Griptilian. I've also got a Zero Tactical, but I haven't really carried it at all. The $200 price tag makes me scared to mess it up.

I'd say that the CRKT M16 has been my favorite for sleekness and ease/speed of opening.

I prefer a short, 3”to 4” fixed blade knife. I’m not looking to have a knife fight with Michael Meyers. Mostly it’s used to open mail and packages.

Much easier on old busted up hands to put into use.

Treat yourself to a small Randall.

What do you people use for a wire crimping tool? I have a bunch of cheap ones I’ve picked up over the years but none of them work well.

Buy a Klein J207-8CR. It’s a combination needle nose plier and crimper. Klein tools are very, very good. Not cheap but worth every penny.

I use a chanellock 909 almost every day, which has been good to me. My strippers are Klein.

Personally I have never used anything better than my ratcheting crimper for barrel crimps.

This is the one I own:

But if you want to go Klein it looks like they make a similar one:

I was just at home depot and grabbed a 2' copper pipe. Was right around $11. Got to the cashier and she couldn't find a tag on it and said "must be free" :bananadance:

Recommendations on a floor standing drill press? Used to have a cheapo bench top one, but I don’t have a bunch of bench space now.

These days I’ve been pretending I can drill repeatable straight holes with my handheld. I can’t :anonymous:

Benchmade supports certain people that would like to take away your 2nd amendment rights I do not purchase anything from them anymore.

I have a Delta. Had it for close to 20 years - good press.

The company was sold/bought, and is back making drill presses. https://deltamachinery.com/products/drilling-boring/18-900L Obviously, this one is different than mine, but worth it to check out.

Check used as well - Delta has been around a long time, lots of tools out there.
