Hey, love my Magnuson supercharged 3rd gen. Noticed some clutch slippage yesterday, truck is at 20k miles with about 2-3k miles with the blower on. I'm not drag racing it but I have been having lots of fun driving it. Any suggestions for a clutch better suited for the new power?

I looked at a factory supercharged 2014 sport with 20k on it at a dealer (this was 2015). Carfacts report showed the clutch had been replaced twice in that mileage. I thought it may have been a non-manual driver as the PO, but maybe the factory clutch just struggles with the power from the supercharger?

Why do you think your clutch is slipping more than normal? Can you describe the behavior?

I think the stock clutch in these trucks is weak. maybe it's just my clutch that's weak.

URD has upgraded clutches on thier site. No personal experience with them though.

Edit: nevermind. I just looked and they no longer have them on thier website.

I’m about to install my supercharger at 38k miles. Someone mentioned in the supercharger thread a clutch masters performance clutch that is available for this truck. I looked on their site but couldn’t find one for this application.

You’ll need to give clutchmasters a call or email. They have several options for the 3rd gen Tacoma, but none are listed on the website. I went with the FX250. It’s pretty harsh, but I wanted some room for future power upgrades and I tow a lot.
shoot them an email with the torque level your truck has, and what you use it for and they will recommend a clutch.

Hi, I would smash the throttle and the revs jumped higher and quicker then normal and then settle back down. Strange thing is that I've driven the truck a few days now and clutch seems to be fine again. Maybe I just glazed it last week?

Of course I spoke too soon. Took the truck for a spin shortly after my last post and clutch appears to be slipping again.
