I had a tint guy come to my work and did my truck the same way. He did my two front windows and matched the tint to the rest of my truck and only charged me $75. That was with him coming to my work and those are typical high California rates so I’d say your bid is a bit steep. 4045961A-FB6A-4C39-A718-00E594ED6B70.jpg

20% up front, 20% on back to make those 5% and a 5% brow was out on. Very happy with the results.

Factory tint for the rear windows, 20% Ceramic in the front, nothing on the windshield. I asked them to make it match the rear as close as possible. I’m super happy with how it turned out.

Looks great! I am thinking about doing this but with 75% ceramic on windshield for UV. It feels like that is where most of the light comes from stock.
    • 20% over the stock ~26% in rears = 5%? Was that measured?
    • Is there a significant difference from front to rear in person and from the inside?
    • How is it driving at night?

I was wondering the same thing, found a guy showing how to use Cling Vinyl to do this! Seems like the perfect solution. Links:

    Llumar IRX
    windshield 50%
    fronts 15%
    rear sides and back 50%

doing some sleuthing, discovered factory "tint" was roughly 27%. The lowest highest VLT level that Llumar IRX offered was 50%, so that was my baseline. that also dropped the fronts to 15% to "match". Initially, I would have preferred a 70%, but that isn't available with this tint. I think the tint level match is pretty good, and I don't have a problem driving at night. After living with it, it doesn't seem as dark as I initially thought it would be, but honestly wish there were lighter tint levels in this tint. I am happy with it. paid just shy of $700 for ALL of the windows, buy once cry once

I don't like the limo tint look, although this is close to it.

Definitely do ceramic. I put it on mine and the heat reduction is great.

If you judge on "how much you see inside the truck from outside", you are using the wrong direction. Inside the truck there are few source to push light out, so my 50% windshield tint (5% on the brow) looks like it blocks all. But the light from outside comes in ... headlights, traffic lights, reflections back from my headlights, etc.

That being said, 5% does block almost all, so I do not want 5% on more than a single brow strip at the top of the windshield to block sun.

So jealous of these tints. Truck won’t pass inspection in RI if tinted past 20%.
