    Hello everyone! I drive a 2011, TRD Sport, DC shortbed, which is automatic. Question is, if I were to take it off road, what would be the max limit before I get stuck in a hole or soft sand being that it's not 4x4 equipped.

    Those that have Sport models feel free to chime in.

    i have the same truck just a longbed and 06, ive taken it through mud and sand alot. through sand just be easy with the gas pedal on starts and stops but depends what kind of sand it is, and try not to stop just keep moving, same with mud but make sure you know how deep the mud is before you go through it cuz if its too deep your gonna be screwed:eek:

    best advice possible, tire pressure is also key drop it down to 10 on the sand you wont have much trouble as long as you dont do something slightly stoopid.

    Cover King Seat Covers, WeatherTech Liners, PopNLock, storage bin locks, N-Fab Step bars, and G4 Elite Tonneau cover.
    I have a 2 wheel drive Sport and it does fine for light offroading and does ok in the snow if you know how to drive. Never tried sand yet.

    My last Taco was a gen 1, 2003. I dropped tires down to 20 PSI, locked the rear end and still managed to get stuck in beach sand. Was pretty damn embarrassing being pulled out by a full size.

    Maybe since gen 2's are a heavier truck, they hookup better in the sand.

    you know, i asked the same question a few years back when i first got my Tacoma. I just experimented and found out the limits of my truck. so far i learned i can go through mud, pull some one out of the mud while in the mud, climb up steep offroad hills, etc. Just keep a stead foot on the gas while going through mud.
    yall just need to get out there and go for it and learn the trucks limits

    I would go lower than that, personally even with my 4x4 Sport I wont go out on the dunes without airing down to 12 in the front and 10 in the rear. It makes driving so much easier too.

    20 psi will do nothing to help 2WD in sand... 10 psi is like night and day.!

    Just give it some time
    I think this is where I need to ask my question. I've got a Prerunner and I live at the beach. Ya feel me?

    Is there any hope for launching, say, a jetski? Also, being a firefighter, there's times when we have patients on the beach. Would I be able to get my 2WD out to them and back, knowing that I have to drive pretty slow until we get them on even ground?
