What do you think would’ve caused the head gasket to fail?

 

DONT KNOW. IT IS AN EARLY 06 MODEL. I THINK THEY WERE THE ONES THAT WERE PRONE TO HEAD GASKET FAILURE.

OR CAUSE ITS BAKERSFIELD AND EVEN THE VEHICLES DONT WANT TO BE HERE.

Ah. I forgot you had an 06. That explains a lot. You were one of the unlucky ones. I worked on an 05 that had 308K on it before it blew the HG. AMD THE DUDE STILL KEPT DRIVING IT!

I wish. If I were to do it again (and had a shop and time and extra cash), I'd try and buy a 2005/2006 DCSB with a blown engine and do a swap with the "high output" 1gr and the new blower. I'm not sure HP Tuners is compatible with those ECUs though…

 

4.6l swap or third gen engine and blower.

If you're staying in CA, time for an 08-09 engine? I would guess that 1GRs are a dime a dozen at the wrecking yards at Rancho Cordova (4.5hrs from you) Unknown condition, but good starting point..

I noticed similar a few months back. Kinda why I suggested a rebuild. Not sure if that would break even with a used swap, but then you have to deal with all the unknowns of poor maintenance and abuse. Used swap is good if you just need to get it rolling again.
