Yes it does. You can input your current tire specs and then the new tire specs into that website and it will show you size differences. It will also show you the speedometer difference.

No it will not affect the speedometer readings. If anything it will be more accurate with the 1” larger tire.

LOL and my figures were bad because I used the wrong tire diameters. That's what happens when you try to quote figures from memory. BUT THE FORMULA WORKS, and my basic point remains the same lol

Internet comments are free and you get what you pay for :sorry:

There is no difference in Speedo readings if going with 1” bigger tire size.

Now, do I think it's a big difference? Not at all. But there is a difference. Just putting that out there.

I am currently getting everything together for a small lift and 265/70R17's on my truck for the spring. Have the lift, wheels and just picked up the black lug nuts and locks. Just waiting for the tires I want to restock... I also plan on installing a speedo calibration tool to correct the speedo. I know the difference is marginal but I figure I have time and the device is about $200. That beats a speeding ticket from a fussy cop. And it is sort of a plan ahead sort of thing if I do decide to go with bigger tires later.

Mine is almost 100% accurate. 265/75/16 with a ~1.5 inch lift

Yep. But to throw another wrench into the mix -- the speedometer isn't necessarily super-precise to begin with, so it might be +/- a couple percentage points already. It's possible you could be making it more accurate by changing tire sizes...

Maybe I will run it and compare it to GPS before I purchase then... thanks.

Yes you are correct, but stock Tacoma truck with stock wheels will run a mile per hour or so less then what’s on the Speedo. 1” larger tires makes it a much closer reading.

Save up until you can do both. Then you can match them. In the meantime enjoy the gas savings as well.

The wheel size will affect of you rub or not, I have 265 70 17 on wheels with a -10 offset and they rub. No lift

I think I'm going to stick with the tire size noted. Being new to the Tacoma's, I'm in unfamiliar territory. I know my Wrangler's, and I to was running that size on my jeep. I'd like a little bigger, but that up's the price tag. And I have a lot of catching up to do!

    Here's the quick math.

    31.5" / 32.5" = 96.9%

At 65MPH your speedo should read, if it was correct before, 65 * 96.9% = 63MPH. So beware if you're allowed to go 10 over where you live, 75MPH on the speedo, 77.4MPH will be your actual speed.

Sadly I have 16's (Off-road model). That would be great, because I could change out rims, then tires a little later down the road.

I have the Off-road, which runs; 265/70-16. So once I upgrade to 17's, I'd like as big of a tire as I can get without compromising the truck...e g., Major tire rub, etc.
