Chan has been great with updates and changes whenever he is in town.

I went from OVtune to the CVC tune, and the difference is substantial.

I also consistently pull higher MPG and am able to comfortably cruise at speeds that I was unable to before. I'm running wide 33s so cruising at 75 was troublesome with hills and such.

I honestly would think it's snake oil if I read this, however after having it for 8+ months.... Yeah, it's amazing.

My only criticism has been that the throttle is too touchy, especially if your off-road or on washboard. However, I believe I have an older version and need to update, and I believe this has been addressed.

Chan is also a really chill likeable guy, and will take time to explain things out.

His tune and service is worth giving a try.

Update- Just drove her to work, about 25 miles on the fwy and she used to get about 19.5 mpg (running 3” full Elka lift) and now she avg. 22.3 mpg. pretty impressive on her first trip out of the gate with the tune. Best way for me to explain it is that she performs smooth and responsive like mom’s Lexus.

After two months with the CVC tune the truck is running great. Lost a bit of MPG around town but the same 21 MPG on the highway and 15 MPG towing the 3,500 lb Airstream Basecamp 16X on mostly flat, which is a 1 MPG increase. I was even able to pull it at 55-60 on some flat sections in S6 with the torque converter locked up. It doesn’t hunt for gears anymore and ECT is great for towing, especially in the hills. I don’t really need to put it in S mode now. It picks the correct gear on its own. I was watching the gear and TQ lockup as well as trans temp at the TQ and the pan and it was behaving like it should without me having to intervene.
@chanvchau did you ever get a chance to dyno a stock Tacoma with and without the CVC tune. It feels like there is more torture down lower in the RPM range but confirmation would be great. Also I would be interested in seeing the logs someone asked about when you get around to it. Thanks again!

So you gave me the old OV tune about 6 months which did an exceptional job addressing throttle response. Interested in the latest CVC tune upgrade. Located in Sacramento area do next time you are here, hit me up! Thankyou for continuing the support for the tacoma community!

I would like to thank chan for the CVC tune. Coming from SoCal, my Tacoma was tune by a well known Tacoma tuner SIBI tune. The tune was too aggressive for my needs, a lot of torque and drops on mid range. After talking to someone on FB and recommended CVC tune.. i went ahead and set up for a CVC tune and man! The tune made a day and night difference! I didn’t loose no power but gained mid range and smoother acceleration. Mpg went from 14.5 to 18.4. Again this is base of my own experience. I highly recommend this tune!

I have been running the CVC tune for about 2k miles now. Huge improvement in shift points and acceleration is smooth, throttle input is noticeably different but not too aggressive. The trans holds gears longer, on grades and around town. As Chan said this tune is geared towards the types of driving in the northern Ca region, foothills etc., and he couldn't be more spot on with the outcome. Last weekend I drove from the Central Valley at about sea level, over Highway 120 through Yosemite (Tioga Pass almost 10k feet) to June Lake off Highway 395 and back and averaged 22.3 MPG for the trip in my 2020 TRD Off-road (all stock). I couldn't be happier with my decision to get the CVC tune!

    A few questions...

How does it compare to the KD Max tune? Has anyone had that and switched to the CVC?

Also being in Denver I am concerned with how the tune handles lower atmospheric pressure at/above 5000 ft. Has anyone datalogged to confirm AFR and Knock, etc., are in check at altitude?

I got to tell you that I got the CVC tune done on my Tacoma today and it made the biggest difference, I don’t know why I was so hesitant about getting this done. Should’ve done it when I left the dealership. Highly recommend it if you’re in the bay area or Sacramento area check this guy out!

It will run with 87-93. Better with the higher octane, but you're not limited to one octane. Just no lower than 87!

Compared to the kdm, we have more consistent power delivery through the mid range, and overall a smoother tune. Here in NorCal, most of the guys who have tried both ended up sticking with the CVC. It's just better tailored for our area and needs. We haven't specifically datalogged in that specific altitude, but we have plenty of guys who live in 6000 ft+ mountain ranges who are enjoying our tune. I will note most of them have reported 87 runs better than 91/93 in that specific environment.
