So, out of nowhere, I threw a knock sensor code (po328). I took it to the dealer, as I had an extended warranty. It turned out there was a large mouse nest in the valley between the heads.
The critters had chewed the wires on the harness.
I drive this truck EVERY DAY! It does not sit! WTF!!
Warranty won't cover it, so I'm out just short of a grand. Comprehensive insurance was useless, as I have $1000 deductible.
Watch out for those little bastards, people!!

Very common on the older models.

Bad luck, it's not DIY easy to change either.

Hope karma gives you some better mojo for this!

I feel like the thread title should be changed to found a mouse nest in my engine

I haven't done it on a 2GR, but on the 1GR you had to remove the lower intake manifold, and technically one cylinder head.

I was able to do it with the intake manifold out, but its tight and miserable.

They had to pull the intake manifold off and replace the knock sensor harness. I've heard other people paid a lot more, so I'm "kinda" happy with the price.
Now I have to figure out how to keep the little bastards out!! I'm going to start with peppermint oil.
