Fucked up thing is, I wasn't even behind him. I was in the other lane (it was a 2 lane road), and he was a bit ahead of me.

Oh well. Gonna have to be replaced. Never had to do this before with any of my vehicles.

Had it happen to my GMC when it was 2 weeks old. Dimpled the glass but never cracked.

 

Nope, no dash cam. Not that I think it would have made a difference anyway.

Good thing we have glass coverage as part of our insurance here in CT.

 

I was gonna say, depending on your glass coverage it'll be free or whatever your deductible is

 

My main concern is the horror stories I've heard, about people having their leak after it's been replaced.

Don't really feel like dealing with extra BS and headaches. Work already gives me more of that than I'd like, and want to deal with.

I had my windshield replaced in my driveway. No out of pocket $$ , I think in Connecticut glass is automatically included in your insurance, as its a requirement.

Insurance set it up through Safelight , the installer was great, new gasket is necessary and the glass company is aware of the leaking issue.

In my case on problems , no leaks, took about 1 1/4 hours

My experience with windshield replacement on the taco is this: nearly 13 years old and on my 4th windshield. Always no cost to me. Call safelight or go online and set up appt either at your work or home and they deal with your insurance. Never had a leak. Easy peasy.

I had something like that happen to me 2 years ago. I used Safelite for the repair and I have full coverage so it was covered. I have not had any issue regrading any leaks on my new one.

Sorry to hear that sir.....hope things get better soon. I was really hoping that I could have taken you out on Candlewood this year and give you some much needed peace. Might have to wait until next spring unfortunately
