I have the kit on my rig. Rides a lot nicer than stock. Not sure if I can get much more tire under there than a 33x10.5, but I didn't want to get too crazy with my daily driver. If anyone knows exactly how much tire you can put on after the TRD lift kit, I would appreciate the knowledge. I still have the stock 265s on.

General consensus from the mega thread is 275. Some guys have said 285. I went thru nearly all 90 pages of it and found: agreement across the board on 275, a lot of guys running 265/70-R17, and a handful of CMC fellas rocking 285's.

There's an absolute ton of great info, definitely recommend checking it out. Link below.

Another question: can I use an add a leaf kit for the rear, or do I need specific bolts because of the lift kit spacer blocks in the rear? Want to beef up the back end to avoid sag under load.

I would assume the blocks would be removed if you AAL. I am interested in this as well though.

Edit: Mind posting a pic of your truck with the lift? I am waiting on an AG to come in.

It is quite possible to do an AAL and blocks.

If you are adding a block of more than 1/2", you might need longer U bolts (not always, but if you are doing an inch or more it's safer).

Doing an AAL will generally only add something like 1/4 inch per leaf. If you are adding 1 leaf, you are probably fine with whatever blocks you had planned based on your addition or lack of addition of blocks.
You'll also find people that say you should never use blocks. You'll also find people that say you should never reuse U bolts. You'll also find people that say you should never use an AAL. You'll also find people that say you should never use wheel offsets. You can only do what you think is right for you.

Many AAL kits specify that you remove the overload spring, which means that the overall stack is probably the same as it was before the AAL (assuming a single leaf add), which means the stock U bolts are fine.

    There are so many variables.
My 2014 used a 1" block as well as 1.5" AALs with longer U bolts (and aftermarket shocks) in the rear.
My 2021 is currently using 1.5" AALs and aftermarket shocks with the stock U bolts (and aftermarket shocks).

a lift can’t void your warranty unless the failure can be proven and linked back to the kit. Also don’t overpay for a bilstein 5100 kit… just my two cents but this Toyota kit is a ripoff when you can get a much nicer kit for same price.

Take out the cost of the grill it's not too bad. The sole reason I am going with this kit is to avoid dealing with TSS issues down the line. Toyota won't recalibrate any other lifts and I've had shitty experiences with Toyota warranty claims in the past.

This is all you get, if you buy this and OEM grill you still don't have all parts included with this kit. Cheap? no sure isn't. If you don't want the grill I can agree that it doesn't make much sense. But this and a OEM grill is almost $900 and isn't the same amount of parts

I specified OEM grill, I didn't say knockoff.

To your point though for going on the cheap and buying knockoff parts, where's the rest of the parts included in this kit from Toyota if the OP went that route and bought a knockoff grill? Your at about $600...How much would the sensor, harness, brackets cost? For about $400 more you get a complete kit, with warranty, and assurance TSS works properly, with OEM quality parts to boot.

The TRD lift is already installed. I was simply asking about add a leaf with this kit because I want to get back to the original stance, avoid sag under load, and maybe switch the Softopper for a mid height rack and a James baroud clamshell tent, or go fast camper someday.
Boy, you guys really go down a rabbit hole debating the merits or lack thereof of the TRD lift kit... That is already on the truck...
Yes. If I wanted a rig built for Moab, I would have gone aftermarket 3 inch lift. It's my daily driver, and these rigs suck fuel enough. But which lift to get wasn't my question. Thanks for those that gave me some good info.

Would anyone be able to tell me how high the fog lights sit from the surface of the road after the TRD factory lift kit is installed? I live in PA and am trying to decide whether or not I want the lift when I order my truck. I live in PA so the state requires fog lights to be no higher than 42 inches above the level surface upon which the vehicle stands. So if I get it installed, would living in PA result to them taking out the fog lights or keeping them? Looking for that exact height they sit off the surface of the road. Thanks!!

Yeah and the trd lift kit grille is different than the standard OEM trd pro grille (black letters instead of grey and includes a camera mount up top) however, the garnish is really expensive and is included in the trd lift kit ($300+) so the kit really is a pretty good deal overall

The center of my fogs are sitting at 31-1/4” from the ground. This is with the OEM lift and 265/70R17 Goodyear Duratracs which will add another 1/2” over the stock tires.
