Hey everybody. So I bought a set of TRD Pro 16" rims for my truck. I found they where damaged during the shipping process. I live in cordova Alaska. I paid through the roof to get these shipped to my isolated community. To say returns are a hassle is an understatement. It's usually impossible or mind numbingly inconvenient at best. It's chipped on the pant area right on the lip onnthe outward facing lip. This is SUPER frustrating. Do you guys this this would affect performance at all? Would this pose a risk or leak air?

    LS1 swap with nitros.
Exposed aluminum will corrode in your environment... and spread on the wheel. I’d have to agree about a return... then again we are a zero curb rash household and expect wheels to be perfect. Good luck!

I had damage like that and returned it to BAM. They promptly sent a replacement with a return shipping label. So it did not cost me anything. However it depends on how much it would cost to get the replacement. Once they have a tire mounted half of that will be covered. But I am very picky.

If it were me, I’d return it. They need to make it right so you get what you paid for.

I would ask for compensation, but thats iffy at best.

No way would I waste my time sending it back.

Not enough bandwidth on the internet to list.

Call 'em, send them the pic, and reason with them to refund you some bucks for your dissatisfaction. It's much easier for BOTH parties and get you on the road right away. I'd get the tire mounted and dab a gob of Plasti-Dip on that shiner drive them!

You spent the money on a new item not one that is defective and damaged. Whether the company or the shipping company have to pay but not you. Get that new one

Gonna wheel in it and inevitably damage the wheel? Bark up customer service's tree for compensation then mount the wheel.

Gonna keep it pristine and never leave asphalt (no shame in it)? Insist on a replacement.

I’d have to agree with the idea of getting a refund of some sort. As far as the damage goes I’d use some JB Weld to touch it up.

Nah man, just drive it. We don’t live in a perfect world, and it’s crap to try to pretend that we do. Clean it up with a bit of paint and continue with your life.

eh it would pop off eventually. its a small nick i'd just make sure theres no high spots (tire machine can grab them and make it worse) and then touch it up and live with it.

but paying to ship things, you expect them to come in good shape.. i'd definitely be asking for SOME kind of compensation

Would there be major issues with corrosion with this problem? I'm leaning towards living it it. But I just want to make sure I'm not going to regret living with it.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
    ^^--Exactly.
Send them a pic. Describe the condition of the packaging when you received them.
Were the wheels packaged appropriately for the trip to you?
Was the damage done in shipping? Was there visible external damage to the packaging? If there was AND if you had to sign for receipt, did you note that damage and note that there may be concealed damage?
If the wheel got put into the box in that condition, then the seller owes you something. Obviously it's likely usable, but then appearance is typically a selling point. Cry a little, but be civil.
If it got damaged in transit, then it could be a challenge to get compensation.
The reality is, only you are the only likely person to cringe every time you notice it after the tires are mounted. Most folks are not going to notice, and if they do they're not going to fixate on it like you are.
As @GrizzledBastard said, "it's much easier for BOTH parties and get you on the road right away."
