They are a local dealer to me, from everything I have heard they are very honest and good to deal with. I've never bought anything there myself but have heard good things from those who have.

I looked into that a few times, no one makes a "kit" to sway anything into a 2nd gen :(

not saying it can't be done, I lack the knowledge and time ( aka Taco down time ) needed to preform a swap that wasn't a "kit"

I've always got the engine swap question in the back of my mind.. One of these days the Taco's going to need major engine work and I'll have to decide to fix or replace.

if anyone's got some good links for 2nd gen swaps of any kind, Please share!

you must like electrical gremlins eh?

that's all I'll say about VW's. Thank goodness we swapped the wife's Golf for the Subie.

that's it, get a Subaru and make some boost................:stirthepot:

The biggest issue with engine swapping a second gen Tacoma all come down to the trucks being expensive, and the 1GR engine make enough HP for 98% of use cases. That being said if I stay with the Taco and don't buy a Bronco I am still really considering a 2UZ V8.

Anybody know if you could set up a light bar and tap it into the fog light harness so it would run off the same switch as the fog lights ?

Should be easy to tap in the light bar's relay to the signal from the fog light switch.

    Exactly!
the light bar should come with its own wiring harness that usually has a 12V relay in it. Instead of using the supplied "on/off" switch that comes with the wiring harness you could instead tap off the existing fog light relay (or wiring if your comfortable with splicing it ) so that when you hit the switch for the fog, it also powers the relay for the light bar.

the only downside I could see with that is you would have to have the key to "on" in order to use the light bar, if you made the switch seperate then you could wire it in such a way to be able to power the light bar at any time, key or no key

@Canoehead & @d2 already answered the "could you" - check out this poll I made a while back with regards to the "should you". Some good replies in there about the ins and outs of it
