35x10.50x17 Kenda Klever R/T Kr601 Thread *SKINNY 35s*

I drive like a grandma so maybe thats why I get good tread life with tires lol

 

So I ordered the Kenda and got them mounted today and the installer said they took a lot of weight. I haven’t had a run on the freeway yet but they seemed fine up to 50 mph. Has anyone else had any trouble?

 

I noticed a lot weights were needed to balance mine but no vibrations up to 100MPH during high speed passing. They are actually really smooth.

Mine took a decent amount of weight, but no vibrations at all and are actually really smooth and quiet. As I think I mentioned before, they are definitely a soft tire, the softer sidewall than my previous cooper is a noticeable difference. IIRC someone from Kenda at Overland Expo did mention re-balancing after putting some miles on them, is not a bad idea.

 

Both my sets took a lot of weight but balanced out just fine

 

Thanks guys. I took a quick freeway trip yesterday and they seemed fine so hopefully they stay that way. These do ride nice. I’m running a few psi lower than my SL rated Goodyear’s and they are nice and plush. They do have a little more wander going down the road, to be expected with this aggressive of a tread pattern, but no where near as bad as my Duratracs.

 

They get better after a couple thousand miles once they wear down some and become more uniform in the tread.

 

About 20k miles into mine so far, and they are still doing phenomenal. Have been through almost every hard trail in moab, and the toughest trails here in the pnw. Starting to get a little chunking from burnouts on the rocks and some street drifting, but way less chunking than all of the other tires I've had in the past. Super soft rubber which helps. Still balanced out perfect, besides the broken tpms sensors floating around in the tire lol. Ready for winter to plow some snow

 

I hope so. I’ve had them in a couple highway trips now and there’s some steering wheel wobble. It’s minimal but it’s there for sure. Maybe if it keeps up I’ll see if Kenda wants to pay for another run at balancing them. I’m still looking forward to the performance in the snow and dirt though.

Im running 35x12.50r17 now but wouldn’t mind running these in the winter.

 

Does anyone know where to find these in stock under $250 each? Seems like they have dried up

 

I know this is a kenda thread, but anyone tried out the Toyo oc at3 in the 35x11.5/17? They measure out to a 34.4 and weigh 63lbs in a c load. Tempting since the kendas are 68 freaking lbs

 

They also make a Maxxis all terrain in 35x11.50r17

 

Wider width (same as the 285/xx-17 tires in the Toyo AT3 range), so there would likely be more rubbing.

There's looks to be quite a bit of mfg variation in tire weights at that size. My Kendas measured 65 lbs on my bathroom scale. Saving 2 lbs wouldn't be a motivation to switch, especially given the AT3's less aggressive tread pattern. The AT3 has shallower tread depth as well (17/32" vs 19/32").

 

I happened to nab a set locally. I didn’t realize how awful tire buying is right now, everything is on backorder or ridiculously priced.

@Glenn_R measured the kendas at a section width of 11.25 and the toyos are a 11.4in based on the spec sheet. I'll weigh and measure them once I get them mounted.

 

Yeah the Kendas are on 4-6 week national backorder according to some sites.

It's odd @Glenn_R thought his measurements were true to the specs on Kenda's site, but Kenda's site lists section width as 10.47" when mounted on a 17x8.5" wheel (same as his) for P/N 601015

 

man that thing sits perfect! What’s your lift height end up being? I really need to stay out of tire threads, I wanna ditch my brand new 265/70’s for these
