All I know is my 45 gr loads are accurate and devastating on Prairie Dogs even out past 300 yds and super efficient on Coyotes leaving only minor damage to the hide.

Depends on the quality of the fur. At auction Western skins average about $75 - 100 for high quality heavy coats and 30-50 bucks for lower quality medium thickness skins.

Maybe now a days, because the common bullets used in the .308 have started to trend longer in length (bc=Sd+form factor) due to the uptick in long range wannabes.

However, barrels common to the .308 is definitely a 1:12. In the military it’s a 1:11.25 for sniper systems when the 175gr smks started being used.

Common misconception that it has anything to do with weight. Actually stability and rifle twist have more to do with length of the projectile. The whole reason we use 1/7 twist in the m4/m16 (military) is for t he fact the tracers are commonly used. Tracers are longer then 62 gr m855/A1.

In the long range shooting community, people that happen to shoot monolithic bullets go with borderline ridiculous twist rates to stabilize a common weight, due to the fact the copper is less dense then lead. To make a projectile for a .300 PRC using a 212 gr, it needs to be long as shit relative to its lead core counterpart.

Then to keep stability of a projectile coming out of transonic, a common practice is to over stabilize the bullet.

Finally decided on my new EDC. Glock 43X MOS with Ameriglo bold night sights. Waiting on a light, holster and red dot to come in now.

Went to Cabela's and bought a Savage Axis compact 6.5 Creedmoor (in camo) for my son's upcoming 11th birthday. It came with a super basic Weaver scope and rings for $359, seemed like a perfect way to assure some father-son time in the woods.

Also grabbed a box of Winchester Expedition Big Game Long Range 6.5cm (for a mere $50:eek:) that wasn't even on the shelf - they had it in the back for folks that buy a rifle.

I got a serious impulse buy situation going on here. 4th lower in a month. . Sr-15 stripped lower, Colt lpk, Colt tube and buffer, ALG ACT trigger. $430 and it came in this sweet barrel bag. Pretty good deal still even if it's not all full on KAC. I promise it's the last one for a while:fingerscrossed:

Great gun. Look into the Shield mags, and you will have an extra 5 rounds without any extension to the mag/magwell.

Got my Saiga back from the gunsmith after having a bullet guide installed. Went to my LGS and picked up a FN 502, they said it had been on the shelf for less than 5 hours. Nicest trigger of any 22lr pistol I have ever played with, maybe nicest auto trigger period.

My wife had one just sold it. She had an issue with the grip safety and weak recoil spring causing fail to feed issues now granted her technique and strength is not awesome it was not something she could trust. FWIW she has zero failed to feed in my 19x, p365, hk vp9sk or buddies Canik. I was able to work it just fine but you had to be really high and really tight up on the grip safety. Even with no issues it still wouldn't be something I would trust if in a compromised position or offhand.

She's going to get a vp9sk instead(wrong handed) and the hk has the best ambi controls for her

What would y'all pay for this?
    Description he sent me:
"It started life as an MR556 16" upper kit. Barrel cut to 10.5, with appropriate HK Gas block for 10" barrel put in place. Traded out m-lock handguard for H&K earlier style quad rail.
Lower is a Brownells H&K forging with HK style markings added. Safety (ambi) and pistol grip are HK...the rest of the lower internals are probably Colt, because the HK parts look the same but are crazy pricey.
Only other thing not H&K is the buffer tube. It's a regular mil spec with the Magpul pistol brace."
