Saw one spike and had two other deer come in but it was too dark to see them.
Been very slow for me.

 

nothin yesterday, it's early black powder for 3 days here, i dont own a smoke stick, but i bought the stamp,so i could hunt, i didnt even hear ANY shots, near or far....

 

I have 3 ladders in the woods . 15’, 17’ and one that is around 24’ it has an extension . I also have one lock on with a portable shooting rail that ratchets to the tree . BIG difference when you have that rail . The lock on I just put in a different piece of property will be getting my other rail installed today . The older I get the more uncomfortable the lock on are . I never liked hunting from a blind but I have one . I would much rather be in a tree where I can just turn my head and see almost 360* . I added a life line to the tall ladder . I never wore a safety vest in my ladder stands but I am starting this year . I actually used a lineman’s belt for the first time this year installing the most recent lock on . Love my Lone Wolf climber but you need a straight limbless tree as you all know . Here is the rail

 

Also have 2 lone Wolf Alpha Loc-on stands still in the garage not in a tree

had deer all over me from when I got setup an hour and a half before shooting light until right before I could see my pin. Saw nothing from 7:05 till 11 yesterday.

making a 2 hour drive tomorrow PM to try again because I convinced my manager to let me phone in for my meetings from a tree

Good wind and have a better tree picked out to sit from 1:00 till dusk.

I couldn’t figure out why they were in the area for the life of me because it was all scarlet oaks and I never see them eating those acorns till late season. Turns out I overlooked one white oak in the area and when I checked in the morning it is worn down to dirt all around it from all the activity under it.

Sat up in the hardwoods tonight and didn’t see anything. A line of raccoons came crunching through the leaves at last light making me think I hit the jackpot tho.
