Ok so I'm hoping someone can chime in and tell me if my sons 2016 Tacoma is compatible with the "Blackvue DR750S 2CH" dashcam that came out in 2017. This dashcam seems awesome but if the vehicle doesnt have a wifi "hot-spot", my understanding is it won't work. Thank you.

No Tacoma has a wifi hot spot to-date.

Just looking at this camera, it says it does not require wifi, but it does require a SIM card to work on cellular data.

If you want that kind of advanced technology, you need to get a high-end vehicle.....like a Dodge.

My 2021 has WiFi just like TRD75 but it isn’t active while the trucks electrical systems are off.

It only needs wifi if you want to monitor the cams in real time.
I have the DR900S-2CH and am very pleased.

Why not just use your phone? That is all the car is doing.

Wow, the guy who wrote that was an idiot

your 4g connected dashcam comes with a year of connectivity, but after one year you have to PAY for connectivity. Oh, and the company was sold. The world is over
Guess you have to throw the dashcam away then. Well, I GUESS you could still use it like every other dash cam out there, but maybe there are some that say you can’t, so I guess it’s back to throwing it away then.

it’s like it is a surprise to this guy that buying a niche market device with connected service is going to, gasp, charge you dumb prices for those services.
