Went to Harlan this weekend, had one of the most unusual trail breakages/damages I have experienced. See if you can spot it below. Trip report sometime tonight.

Went to Harlan this weekend with @Robertocritser and @Nwi_taco. This was supposed to be a shakedown/fall colors run for a friend who was wrapping up a motor swap on his 80. That group bailed and we still went wheeling. Not TOO many actual wheeling pics. Typical Harlan KY wheeling, it rained the first day so it was a sloppy mess. Day one was fucking around on rock gardens and fish fossil, lower damnation, and killing time. Levi on lower rock garden.

    IMG_20211022_133439181.jpg
    IMG_20211022_133455407.jpg
We then did fish fossil. No photos but there is a nasty clay hill climb at the end, I got denied on it years before and made it taking an unusual line by accident. I some how ended up to the right of the ruts for those of you familiar with it and bounced back in after the Boulder that hangs people up.
Levi walked it with those SX2, they were made for that shit!!
We ended up meeting up some friends of NWI after that, a bunch of jeepers on tons and sticky tires. A commanche that was badass, a cj on propane and 2 jks. No pics of the Jks because they look like evreyother jk ever except no stupid name on the hood and they are on sticky KR3s. Commanche dude did little Jager and made it and so did the cj.

Only pic I have of that. Mark tried it but failed.

Day 2 was carnage day. We met up with the crew with tons at lions den. If you aren't familiar with lions den, go to YouTube and watch some video of it, kinda cool, very tight obstacle. The red cj dropped in:

I was going to try it but decided to pass as it was getting late. So we decided to hit up white tail crawl. White tail crawl is the scene of my first ever flop (back around page 5 or something is a pic) and I have been wanting to run this trail since I axle swapped. I don't have any pics of me running it but I took an odd line, and got high centered on a boulder with my ass end dropped into a hole. So I had to winch as the Boulder was against my center bearing and I couldn't back up. I had my winch basically stalled out, winch to the driver's side, in double low 2nd letting it eat moving inch's at a time. The truck kind of lurched out made a got awefull metal crunching sound, and pivoted. I figured it was the rocks and went on my way. Made it out of the trail (FINALLY) when Levi came ripping up beside me telling me my beds falling off.
    IMG_20211023_180212688.jpg
    IMG_20211023_180241823.jpg
    Fawk..
    IMG_20211023_180223065.jpg
So we started pondering after some laughing (what else can you do at that point) and decided to drive up to white tail look out anyway....
    IMG_20211023_181948933.jpg
    IMG_20211023_181851421.jpg
So I had about an hour of trail riding back to camp to figure out wtf I was going to do as I don't have a trailer. Here is what we came up with, come along the frame down to Levi's trailer and hilift the ass end up and see if it works.
    IMG_20211023_194610097.jpg
It did! Left it sit over night...
    IMG_20211024_073048710.jpg
    IMG_20211024_073506967.jpg
I'm pretty sure it has tighter body lines now then when I drove drove down there.

End up driving it home 4hrs with a crunched center bearing, no vibes. OEM for the win, fuck that cheap spicer shit everyone blows thier load over on TW.
    IMG_20211024_132044543.jpg
    IMG_20211024_132037060.jpg

So I don't know what my medium term plans are. Either back half it, or frame swap it. I can get a new frame built to my spec cheaper than what Toyota sells a new frame for, so I have that bouncing around my head. Short term is weld some angle over that bend and wheel it more.

    Damn good trip!!! Super fun!!

Oh I also had my front driveshaft lose it's flange bolts and come off on the trail, FYI you need to carry a spare fuel filter if you have a crawler!! My drive shaft wedged between that and the floor and somehow didn't take the fuel filter out, I would have been mildly fucked if it did! Adding that to my spare parts!

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
I had an 85 Crawler that eventually went truggy. I did the same to my bed and Windrock.
Nice looking rig and getting some good use of it ;)

And cv boot popping off then swapping out the cv... it was some weird breaks that didn't take long to fix.

This is the last time I tried white tail lol! Matter of fact I was on another trip where a guy flopped onto this rock and almost went tumbling side ways down the hill (Bill @Snowy ). It doesn't look too bad but it's a bitch!
