Found some time mount up the quick attach brackets to the grapple bucket.

Still need to mount up the upper jaws.

At least the bottom part works perfectly.PXL_20211023_162427486.jpg PXL_20211023_165022259.jpg PXL_20211023_172144177.jpg PXL_20211023_172356386.jpg

Where should I mount the hinges for the upper jaw?

    I'm leaning towards the top bar.PXL_20211024_152925291.jpg PXL_20211024_152840151.jpg

If you do any type of grading type work or floating of the bucket. Add a level indicator, I usually add some torque strip paint/drop on the slide bar just below the guide bar bracket. The paint dried paint mark that's inline with the bracket indicates a level bucket scoop my machine.

That’s one of the purposes for the bucket markers. I’ve done most of the grading without an indicator and I’ve gotten pretty decent at knowing a level bucket but now I don’t have to guess

I think I got it figured out. Just have to throw on some hydro lines to test it.

I wish I had a a shorter ram, but I think this one will work. Had to do some major MacGyvering.

Ok cool, yeah I'm purty good too yeah, but when I find myself on uneven ground that's a different story, yeah those markers probably wouldn't last on my bucket.

Did the annual changeover to snowplow yesterday. Bring on the winter. Going to try with the backhoe on this winter. I ran my scrapper box as a counterweight last year. Sometimes when pushing at speed with the blade in float, the cutting edge would grab and skew the front end. The hoe is about 400 pounds heavier, so that should keep the front end lighter, and help with traction. Probably make it a lot easier to unstick myself when I manage to get stuck. If it doesn't work as planned, I can always put the scrapper on and get a set of chains.

disarray isn’t always a sloppy operation, sometimes it’s by design, I know where my shit is, even if it was “organized” I’d still hunt for stuff, because it’s just not where it should be.

My work van is not organized, I hate that I have a tote bag to carry tools into a customer.

16 years ago I was working at a “fast food” vehicle repair shop, we got broken into, I lost over $6k in tools and equipment, I was all nice and neat and organized, pretty drawer rails and wrench holders…guess what got gone? Everything that was easy to grab, every set of tools in organizers, anything in a case, anything that was “name brand” had a tool bag and 2 jackets laying there on top of my LOCKED a tool box, pried the box open with a pry bar from another techs box and raided my shit. Hauled it all out the broken bay door window.
Not making it easy for anyone anymore.

and NO, to don’t have tool insurance, my qualification for that was the next day….and NO I never got anywhere with the cops. And BTW, tool insurance only pays 80% of what you can PROVE you lost in the event.

My disarray is a classic case of 10 pounds in a 5 pound bag, the obvious solution is less stuff -- the better solution is -- build a bigger garage!

    (not happening...) :pout:
