Brand new to the Tacoma world. Always a Ford diesel guy in the past. Have been living in Chicago without a truck for the past 8 years. I had my heart set on a Calvary blue off-road and was ready to pull the trigger. With the market as it is and a Jew model coming out soon I did a complete 180 to hold me over.

Went with a bare bones 2016 SR 4x4 4cyl with a manual 5 speed. I thought the idea of an underpowered 4cyl was ludicrous especially after owning Ford diesels in the past. Reading about how bulletproof the combo is and realizing I’ll only be towing an occasional motorcycle, I figured this was the best thing for now. I have to say, I love it so far.

    Welcome!

Well, you're prepared for deer season with that grill.

    I haven't had a 5-speed since my early 90s Isuzu Rodeo...in the early 90s!

    Thanks guys.

And yeah, have to say the cow catcher is probably coming off… but at the same time I actually don’t hate it for some odd reason.

Yeah, I'm starting to like the idea of having protection around the headlights & both front fender areas.
