I'm old school and I've gone through 3 Tacos 4 other trucks 5 cars and the standard was to criss cross the tires.
I noticed the change with my new 2017 TRD Sport back in the day. Switch front to back on one side. My guess the dealers are saving time and to get you out the door. I'm guessing again mind you you probably can't do it with all terrain tires because you have to break down the tires off the wheels.

Awesome! I’ve loved Zelda since I was a small kid, but I don’t think I could commit like that! Right on!

I routed the drain lines on my Undercover Flex to the existing drain holes using barbed hose fittings. I’ll try to include the original post that explains everything.

Kings, 275/70/17, a few custom items, lots of Meso mods.
Running on unpaved or gravel backroads is almost unavoidable without slowing way down, mud guards and/or running boards, tube steps or sliders with fill plates. Silver hides it really well compared to most other colors.

All kinds of little easy stuff
So I see all these other trucks with lifts, no mudflaps & huge rock chuckers on this site & none of them go on gravel roads to get to their off road spots?? I'm blown away that this is the first time I took it (off pavement) and it was this bad...do all you off-roaders just keep it on pavement all the time? Not trying to be an a$$ just asking if this is the norm for the big tire guys

TRD Filter and Accelerator, RIPP Coil packs (driver side sucked,) and a Borla muffler. I don't know if it feels and different. Maybe a little peppier? Does sound different, in a good subtle way.

I'll grab a pic tomorrow but mine are beat to hell as well even with mud flaps on the truck. Was kinda bummed at first but stopped letting it get to me as I bought the truck with the intentions of offroading so its just part of the game. The one that really bums me out is the dings in my tailgate after carrying my dirtbike on a hitch carrier this last trip. Turns out it was perfect angles for the rocks to fly up off the rear tires, bounce off the bike and pepper the tailgate. That one hurt...

What is the paint protection like on the long beds? I've never looked at one up close. As a short bed I don't have much paint exposed in that area. I also don't have flares though :anonymous:

I have unpainted flares, no flaps, leading edge of the rear flare is peppered pretty heavily. Not a heavy off roader, but it does happen.

Ran across a company called ThinSkinz https://thinskinz.com/. They make a hard shell interior door panel armor. Currently only available for Jeeps but seems like a newer company and their website has a “Vehicle suggestion form” to gauge interest to expand product lineup https://thinskinz.com/pages/thinskinz-vehicle-suggestion-form

I submitted one for Tacoma 3rd gen. Would love a set of these because cleaning dog slobber is a real pain especially on the rubber like material.

Not even just big tires. I’m stock and live on a loose asphalt road. Before I put flaps and the aluminum runners it was bad- didn’t notice how bad until I mounted the boards (ended up taking it down to do a full touchup on all the chips before putting them on)
