Does anyone know if the bed lights have to come out if you get a decked system for your bed? Just curious, looking at getting one and can’t seem to get a straight answer.

I have what I'm pretty sure are OEM bed lights and a Decked system in my bed. I've had no issues. Although it was installed by the previous owner so I don't know if the lights had to come out for the install or not.

Gotcha, definitely makes buying it easier. Worst case I guess I just take them out and sell them and get new lights.

The oem bed lights do not have to be removed to install the deck system. I installed the lights when I bought the truck and then installed the decked system about a yr later.

Is the Deck’d kit worth the money? Is it watertight?

As others have said you can keep the oem bed lights with your decked, but less than half of the light will be above the decked platform so the available light is lesser.

I live in southern Oregon where it is always wet and salty and I’ve never had a leak in the decked drawers. I think I was looking at an additional flap that decked sells for maximum water protection but I didn’t get it and I haven’t regretted it. The ammo cans obviously aren’t watertight.

No, but I found a flat headed outdoor extension cord and plugged it in before installation and then drilled a hole in the ammo can so the cord was always available in the ammo can.

Yes and No, You can not access the outlet without making minor modifications. Ive seen videos on youtube where people have to cut out a piece of the decked side cubby, and take the outlet in the bed and wire it into the side cubby. So it can happen, just need to make a few cuts and extend some wires.

Chloe addresses this in her video on the Decked since she also wanted to be able to use the outlet. It’s around the 15:35 mark.
